nice, small hotel, perfect located in district 1, direct at the benh-tanh-market (but still very quiet at nicht). rooms are very small (even standard with window). perfect as a "base-camp" for tours and sighseeing for non-backpackers. in comparision to "de tham"-backpackerstreet much more quiet and convinient. people in the hotel are very friendly, even some don't speak enough english. valueable.

The staff was extremely friend and went out of their way to inform and help. However, there are some details the owners might consider improving to make this a better hotel: first, is to add more English speaking channels on the television; second, is to paint the room (preferably a warmer color); and third, to change the bathroom sink facet, which was loose, dull, and old looking.
Travel tip:
A local told me not to worry about not finding a place to stay. There are plenty of hotels in Hanoi. She said for the best deals on hotels, travellers should book their room after they arrived.

halo hotel is located right in the middle of the market area, was a great central location to base yourself out of. room was small but comfortable, big bed that was comfortable. bathroom was small but had a huge shower head with a nice stone base. the room had good aircon and tv with cable. breakfast was nice, choice of pho or eggs, both choices were cooked well. staff were friendly, front desk helped us book a tour and door man was always friendly and got us cabs. would recommend this hotel for a short stay, we were there 2 nights and that was enough.

The hotel room is clean with most basic hotel room amenities but it is rather small. Front desk staff very polite and helpful. Go all out to help us to get some local stuff to bring home. There is at least someone at the Front Desk that can communicate in English.

I've been there in Saigon last week and I'm happy to tell you that me & my friends survived in HCMC without any hassle, Thanks a lot for the wonderful people of Vietnam, helpful staff of Halo Hotel and reliable tour service of Tuan Tours...thank you beautiful people of Vietnam, I love you guys, We'll be back next year for another leisure trip that I'm sure we're going to enjoy...I love PHO 2000 and the dinner cruise, water puppet show and the recksaw ride...I love you guys...I'm sure in five years time you will be number 1 tourist destination in southeast Asia...God Bless!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
for package tour go to Tuan Tours & look for ms Nhan, she will give you best price & package but dont try the mekong river,very tiring and the lunch is very late...

the hotel is cute, i mean small but cute & the plus factor is "it is always clean" i don't smell cigarettes in the hallway or in the elevator so i'm so happy my asthma is under control. cleaning lady is always smiling and always changing our towels with fresh one. never mind the breakfast at least you will have something to eat.i love the hotel & it is highly recommended to all the budget travelers. i'm sure i will stay there again next year tru agoda of course for hassle free booking.
Shopping Tip:
Ben Than Market is just 30 steps away from Halo Hotel, and across the market is the famous PHO 2000 the food is really yummy & the price is right.

A well runned family hotel

We stayed one night only. We had a very pleasant stay. It was very neat and you get all the amenities in the room. Very value for money!
The only con is that they use the copy of your passport and reprint on the other side for the city map. When I asked for a map and turned that copy, I saw all the passport information of other guests. Where the hotel should keep client's details in confidence.....is not happening here.

Ask hotel to recommend you a good restaurant near independance palace
