halo hotel - i highly recommend

generally, we enjoyed our stay in halo hotel. though they do not accept early check-in though we were assisted to transfer to another nearby hotel wherein they took care of the transportation, etc. though the front desk people were not fluent in english, they tried hard to give a good service and accommodate our requests and needs. it is just a few meters away from ben thanh market (a good place for shopping with night market and street food with so many tourists). and near high-end shopping centers and malls (about 15 minutes walk away or about 5-minute taxi ride, taxi costs from halo hotel to saigon center is about vnd only or about only.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
a must try when in vietnam is the city tour, cu chi tunnel and mekong river. i suggest that if you have more time, try to get the 3-day mekong river / cambodia tour. you can get assistance from tnk travel. the tour rates are very affordable.

very homely hotel!
very near to ben thanh market and accessible to all parts of district one

the breakfast was simple, either pho or sandwiches but very nice and it saved us lots of trouble from finding food early in the morning before traveling. the free wifi came in really handy as well saved us lots of money from calling back to home country.

Halo Hotel is a great location since it is very near Ben Thanh Market, the biggest and cheapest shopping haven in Ho Chi Minh City. No way you will miss food since there are plenty of cheap restaurants and eateries.
Shopping Tip:
Ben Thanh Market is the place to be. Especially the night Market where you can dine and shop opens from 8pm to 12mn.

Shopping Tip:
Ben Tanh spa has a lovely pedicure, foot massage and parra in treatment for around $12AU for 2 hours.

Nice medium cost hotel, near ben than market. The hotel room is comfy and cozy. It also big compared to the amount of money i paid. The cleanliness of the room and the toilet was the best part. It is well cleaned and preserved. Not to forget about the wifi accomodation this hotel offered.

breakfast is basic, no fruit, offering is toast (white bread, butter and jam) or omlette which i found too greasy. other than that hotel staff were very helpful and we liked the location of the hotel. it is a 15 min walk to the backpacker area and around the same to the smarter part of town, we were happy to use the facilities of both.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
saigon is very polluted, we both felt pretty rough after a day of wlaking the streets surrounded by hords of mopeds (it was tet). pollution masks that many of the vietnamese use may be a good idea!

The hotel is located only a few steps away from the renowned market. The room is quite small but very nicely furnished. Bath room is clean but without shower curtain. Staff at front desk was not very helpful. She told us that it's hard to find any food vendors or resturant still opening due to holidays while there are rows of them opening for business everywhere just down the street.

i loved it..would stay again for sure. staff is lovely. rooms are clean, showers are cool. its close to markets and good shopping. good street food all around... go to bar's bar a block away. those folks are great too.....
