Good location but disappointing service
Value for money if you want no frills, clean, quiet, bus access.

Breakfast was mediocre. Our laundry did not come back in time. For dinner cruise, we were told no booking required, just go to the port. Hotel got us a taxi which sent us to the wrong port, no one knew anything about dinner cruise at the port. We called hotel, finally the lady said cruise was fully booked, no go. That was really bad. For the Mekong delta tour, hotel told us we will be picked up at 7.50am, but the tour agent came at 7.30am and left without us because we were not ready. We never found out whose fault it was, but tour company was kind enough to partly reimburse our taxi fare to their office.

Good budget hotel in Ho Chi Minh

The hotel is pretty central, locating within a couple blocks from Palace Hotel & the Sheraton, 15 mins walk to the night market. The room is very clean but a bit small. We paid about $30/night with breakfast included. Note: the hotel keeps your passport until you check out.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Taxi from the airport costs about 130,000 with 10,000 airport tax. It takes about 45 mins to get there from the airport. The hotel is right above the bar so it gets pretty loud at night. Ask for higher floor. They also lock the door after midnight. Not sure why but there's a guy sitting by the door to open it for you.

The best thing about the Hosen hotel is that it's so close to tons of restaurants, local and ex-pat, bars, clubs, and spas. It's very cost effective, although there's probably a few reasons why... The hotel itself (Like many in Vietnam) have paper thin walls and ceilings. There is a Considerable amount of noise that you'll be able to hear in your room. People walking and being noisy, you'll hear every word, but the construction and work that goes on in the building, above, below you, that will be jarring. Thankfully it only happens during the day.
If you're working while you travel or spend some time on the internet, you'll be happy with the free Wifi. It's fast and good and my connection rarely dropped. I found that even heavy uploading was possible. It was definitely a plus. All of my pictures to facebook, it took a long time, but the connection was always pretty stable.
Worth noting, I got kicked out of my room by the cleaning staff one day (Which was really inconvenient because I was working). They would NOT take no for an answer, it was weird. They just stood there getting louder and louder demanding that I'd leave the room. It was the most curious thing I've ever seen staying at a hotel. Anyway, it was decent.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Walking straight out of the hotel will get you to lots of restaurants and bars, but if you walk right down the street, take your first right and then your first left, there's another battery of decent bars and restaurants. I also recommend you go to Ben Tanh market and have some Bun there. (Vermicelli noodles, with spring rolls, pork balls, vegetables and fish sauce) it's probably the best value for that meal in the city.

the hv 2 nice and pleasent reception. they upgraded my room without been told. they are always there to help and play with my little baby. the internet facilities was great and i manage to to agoda hotel booking for my next 2 night stay at dalat.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take the BUS 19 and they will bring you to BIN TANH market. THis will save you the taxi fare.

This was a small and nice place to stay. Nothing fancy, small but OK sized room with no outside view. Quiet location within walking distance of several sites with many local and international restaurants nearby. They severed a good breakfast with multiple choices.

Budget hotel near the river

We stayed in Ho Sen Hotel because the price is a budget hotel price. Hotel is not far from the famous Ben Than market. It is about 15 minutes walk. Along the way, you will find many shops selling high end branded products. This hotel is surrounded by many 5 star hotel. Taxi is easily available everywhere. We change room 2 times. First room, cigarettes smell so badly. Second room, the aircond breakdown. Third room, the shower breakdown. We just ran out of luck. Luckily, the breakfast is good.
