Great hotel with great location

would recommend this hotel as it is very close to the market and there are plenty of great street food or restaurant within minutes of walking distance. would definately stay there again when i'm back to hcm.

Ok location with ok rooms

we stayed in hcmc and this hotel for 3 nights/4 days. the room was ok (nothing exceptional) with your basic amenities (clean, tv, 2 water bottles, no coffee though). the restaurant of the hotel is a decent place to eat. prices are cheap but they have a better variety including western food. breakfast buffet is normal as well with eggs, bread, cereal, coffee, juices etc. some equipment doesn't work in the gym and it is on the 11th floor which is like a heat sauna.
the travel desk in the hotel was helpful and a cheap way to book trips. we booked mekong delta and cu chi tunnels through them. both trips were comfortable. do make use of the massage parlor. the massages were much needed and excellent (and cheap !!). all in all, if you are budget traveller, this hotel will fit your budget and provide you with a clean and decent boarding. if you want some luxury, either opt for a better room or look for some other hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
HCMC is a mixture of new and old. The place is dusty and traffic is crazy, especially if you are walking in the heat. Taxis are meter run within the city so there shouldn't be any problem. However, when you land at the airport, they do charge you a couple of extra bucks. You can use both USD and Dong for transactions. Watch out for the guys offering one person rickshaw. Finalize the price first. They'll quote 2$ in their broken english but it is only for the war memorial ticket.

i always stay at hoang hai long and always will stay there.. i enjoyed everything and the hotel staff is super accomaditing and friendly.. i will return during my next stay

Breakfast is gone quickly, they do refill but small portion. Hotel is not so clean but acceptable. In the room the bed is ok but pillow is not good.

It is a 3 stars hotel but with above 3 stars standard. Check in took less than 5 mins from the friendly reception ladies. Room is of decent size, same for bathroom with tub. Everything you need is there, complimentary mineral water, mini bar, laundry basket, and enough electrical sockets for you to charge 3 items together (camera, video cam, handphone etc).
Travel tip:
Airport to hotel cost not more than vietnam $150k dong when taking taxi. Do not get cheated, do ask to follow meter when taking taxi

Good location but air-con not cool

the location of this hotel is good and just walk a few min can reach to happer market.the room is not too big and the door room is very hard to open and close.the air-condition is not cool, setting until 18.c also feel hot.is good have a hair-dryer and shoes for use.the operator is good and the breakfast quite nice.
Shopping Tip:
Must negotiate with the buyer in the happer market.They open the price is high so you must get the discout from them around 30 to 45 percent or more.The selewomen over there is not too friendly and if you are not buying don't negotiate with them, if not their will scolding you.
