i was very impressed with the rooms especially since the price of the rooms were very affordable. Location is great, for me particularly because walking to Ben thanh was a big factor for me. service was good too.

mixed feeling about this hotel. as we arrived late from mui ne due to the traffic jam + it was christmas eve, we were allocated the only room left - which was at the highest level, next to the stores and gym. it was a terrible experience. when we tried to ask if we could change to another room, one of the reception staffs was quite annoyed and kept insisting that was the only room.

Ben Tanh market at night has quite a few bargains if you go hunting.

I was visiting Ho Chi Minh City for the Christmas holiday, and found the Hoang Hai Long Hotel to be a very pleasant hotel. The hotel is very well kept, clean, with a very friendly staff. The breakfast was the standard mix of Asian and Western fare. The room service, however, was a much more eclectic mix which was very pleasing, especially for an attack of the late night munchies!! Through the front desk I was able to rent a motorbike to get around the city for a fare rate (although it would have been cheaper to go outside of the hotel to rent a motorbike, the convenience of using the hotel was well worth the extra money).
My only complaint about the hotel would be the size of the room. I had booked a "Deluxe" room, but the reality was that the room size was one of the smallest I have stayed in during my time here in southeast Asia. However, since my time was not spent in my hotel room, this minor inconvenience does not overshadow the many positives of this hotel.

The room is clean and moderate in size

I will still come back to this hotel, as it is located very near to the Market and bus station. There are also a lot of travelling agencies around there. We have a good christmas eve dinner and enjoy the live band.
Shopping Tip:
One bad incident is my wife made a bargain but latter fail to buy and the trader turned to be very rude and said four letter words. Communication is always a problem.

A good hotel with great location near the famous market and shopping area.Easy to find food esp for muslim. Very easy to get transport to nearby area. Very helpful and friendly staff but always expect for tips. Bathroom quite big but the shower tub not user friendly.
Shopping Tip:
very careful when walking to the market, experienced to see tourist get snatched by motobike while walking.Be alert not being cheated by the locals in and outside the market.

Spotless, large room, no outside window but this was fine, breakfast good too.

I stayed in Rm1005 and the room was big with free wifi access. Breakfast was ok with lots of choices. Near to Ben Than Market and and the Night Market. Be careful with the cab drivers as they charged us excessively to go to Ben Thay Market although they used meter. They might have tampered with the meter.
