Beautiful historical building nicely rennovated. Staff were all friendly and were eager to help you. Loved the breakfast buffet!
Service was not totally flawless for this level of hotel - newspaper was provided one day but not other days; flower in the room was removed but vase was not cleaned.
We stayed 4 nights but they needed to move us on the 2nd morning (to a better room, so it was OK). Generally the room was furnished well and was a welcome retreat after a hot tiring day in HCM city! They can upgrade the Spa - the room was spartan and i thought technic can be improved..
Restaurant Tip : dont miss Quan An Ngon Restaurant! 15 min walk from the hotel but cheap and great food!

The lobby and corridor need a lot of improvement. Quite warm at the corridor.
The hotel is within walking distance to all major sights & shopping. The view from the hotel rooftop bar was great. The hotel is a french-colonial and the rooms are consistently decorated with this theme. The polished wood floor & furniture were lovely. The bed was very comfortable, room is clean.

The Majestic is a beautiful old hotel; original (tiny) lifts and the colonial rooms are quite unique. Lovely buffet breakfast on the rooftop terrace and in a great location opposite the Saigon River and close to good shopping and restaurants
Whilst this is a heritage building it still seems to lack a bit of soul - can't put my finger on why though.
Having stayed at the Duxton (4 Star) on our last night in HCMC, I can't say that I can see the difference between a 4 star and the 5 star rating of the Majestic. Whilst it is a nice hotel; the price difference isn't really justified. Other people seem to really rate the US$25 buffet, we tried it and found it to be OK but not brilliant. You can eat just as well for half the price out in any number of restuarants in the area
Shopping Tip : If HCMC is your first stop before heading to other parts of Vietnam then hold off buying your souvenirs (lacquer ware, silk, arts and crafts etc) as HCMC is much more expensive than places like Hue and Hoi An. (ie table runner in HCMC cost me US$18 but I saw the exact same one in Hoi An for US$6)

The hotel is situated right next to the Saigon River and has a great view of the area from the top floor. The staff are great and very attentive and the rooms are some of the biggest we have stayed at.
We couldn't really fault the place
The hotel staff loked after us from the very moment we arrived which was late at night until we left, days later, from the pool side staff to the front desk. The hotel is handy to a couple of markets and resturants as well as a good walk or short cab ride to museums. Plus across the road you can catch the harbour dinner cruises, in all a great place to stay.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Good Breakfast spread. Cosy decor and good ambience.
Lobby lounge a nice place to laze and gazing the street.
Entertainment at lobby lounge and 8th floor could have been better. TV should have Golf Channel. Morning newspaper should be provided.
As I walked into the hotel lobby a creepy nostalgic rolling twenties feeling got into me. Could imagine the colonial masters walking up and down the corridors with their ladies towing congregating and milling around before a gala party.
The hotel decor and the rustic color carpet along the room corridors are just romantic and the spacious room just add value to the ambience.
A perfect hideout for honeymooners and also for the oldies to walk down the memory lane.
Restaurant Tip : Quite a number of good authentic Vietnamese Restaurant low-medium and high end.

Full of character. Friendly and welcoming staff.
Roof-top bar could improve its food and drinks. Swimming pool quite small.
Away from the bustle of Saigon, walking into the Majestic allows you to close the door from the street. The Majestic suite was enormous, and for a special occasion was well worth the money (much cheaper than any other comparable suite in Saigon). The service by the staff was impeccable. The decor of the hotel maintained a certain old-world charm

Colonial od fashioned but with style.Excellent buffet dinner for $25 with option of lobster and Tiger prawns on the barbecue. On the Mezzanne floor there is a casino!
A slight mouldy smell from the room air con. This is no doubt dueto the high humidity in the monsoon season
The hotel takes you back to the stylish 70's similar to the Old Oriental hotel in Bangkok. An excellent welcome upon arrival which makes you feel that you are in a British or French colonial club.
Two stylish rooftop bars on the 5th and 8th floors. At the ground floor buffet white or red wine is all included.
Good stylish fun.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A must is the War museum.I wish the British Govt (Cabinet members) had all visited before going to war in Iraq! A moving experience.

Central position in Saigon
Efficient and friendly staff
Tastefully decorated with character and charm
Exceptionally clean
Food and restaurant service first class
Small pool area. Need to move sunbeds around to catch the sun.
From the minute we arrived (0900) they made us comfortable and even allowed us to check into our room early. We booked the colonial deluxe city views which was a beatiful room but we found the noise from the traffic (which starts around 0500) a little too much. After our first night we were approached by the hotel guest liaison officer to ask if everything was to our liking. We mentioned the traffic noise and said we didn't think we could cope with 13 nights of it. She immediately upgraded us to a pool room which was very quiet and relaxing. The hotel restaurant does a fabulous evening buffet dinner with wine included in the price. Very good value at $25US We found all the staff to be exceptionally polite, helpful and friendly from the concierge and doormen, reception, restaurant staff and housekeeping.Fresh fruit in our room everyday, chocolates each evening when they came to turn back the bed and the offer of clean towels
We felt very spoilt and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Would recommend this hotel to all our friends. Welldone the Majestic.
Travel tip : Go to the tourist information centre to get a free map and local guide, very informative. Also free internet use. Wasn't impressed with the evening dinner cruise on the river.Starters and mains all arrived same time, very rushed.

Lovely building, great location, excellent service
I stayed at the Majestic for several days, then they booked a trip to the Cat Tien national park for me, and we returned after the trip to the Majestic. Everyone greeted us warmly and again we were impressed by the service, the location, and the beauty of the building. There is also a delightful rooftop bar with a view of the Saigon riverl

Great location in the only district that is tourist friendly, good food and service and delightful restored colonial building with fine rooms
This is a place of peace in this chaotic city. It has beautiful public spaces, done in an art deco style with great taste. There is variety in the restaurants, including a nice rooftop bar, a fancy French retaurant and a good continental restaurant. It has a nice pool and workout area and is generally a nice place to stay.
Restaurant Tip : The best restaurant we found was Manoir de Kaye(sp)

location, service, breakfast, swimming pool
no international newspapers, expensive day tours
a 5 star haven in the bustling streets of saigon. we had a very positive stay in the hotel and would highly recommend it. the staff were friendly and helpful and the service top notch - very personal. the breakfast was excellent and a great way to start the day. we went to 2 other 5 star hotels in the district and were very happy with our choice. the swimming pool in the centre courtyard is a peaceful place to cool off and relax after the hustle and bustle of the city.

Interesting to be in an old colonial style hotel
still feels a bit dated. Rain proved too much for the roof top bar
Interesting to be in an old colonial style hotel but unfortunately it still feels stuck in the past. The pool and spa arrangements were not that good. The location is fine however -right by the river and central for shopping etc. When it rains it is difficult to gain access to the roof top bar, so as it rained for two days on and off we were not able to view the river at night.

Staff wonderful, location very good, lovely pool, great breakfast, good rooftop bar
overpriced day tours, no international newspapers
My husband and i spent three nights at Hotel Majestic and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special place to stay in Ho Chi Minh City - both business and leisure travellers. we were warmly greeted on our arrival and the service continued to impress. it was my birthday while we were in Vietnam and the hotel had made a cake and put a small bouquet of flowers in the room. a beautiful touch which made our stay all the more special. A real treat of a hotel!

A beautiful colonial building, well restored, attentive and helpful staff, good sized attractive bedrooms, good food and excellent overall ambiance
My only complaint is that their red and white house wines by the glass are undrinkable
The Majestic Saigon is a charming old-world hotel with all the modern conveniences. The staff is outstanding and caring. When they learned that it was my birthday, they produced a fine birthday cake free of charge as well as a large flower arrangement in our room. They were also most helpful with our travel arrangements and tours. The cuisine is excellent, and there is an attractive bar on the roof with views of the River. They also have free internet connections from the rooms.
