Beautiful old room (maybe not all rooms as nice?)
Excellent staff, willing to help (although a bit bureaucratic)
Tour run by Saigon Tourist was awful, use another tour company
The hotel lobby is beautiful, as are the rooms I saw - but I suspect that there is some variance between different rooms. The staff was a bit bureaucratic but friendly and willing to help. Location couldn't be better, for tourism or business. Breakfast is excellent, although restaurants overall not as nice as some of the other business hotels. Do not use Saigon Tourist, our tour was awful with a nasty guide whose English was poor - there are many other (private) tour companies in town.

The rooms are spacious, clean. The breakfast buffet was quite good. The staff are efficient, polite and friendly. Location is excellent.
The lobby needs a lot of improvement. The hotel needs to be refurbished to look more modern. It looks so outdated esp. the furniture and the lobby looks very boring. The plastic pots in those rectangular wooden containers in the lobby look so ugly.
min. 50 words I would recommend this hotel for its excellent location. One can walk to shops, restaurants and other points of interest in the city. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet although there could be more variety each day. The staff are polite and the rooms are very comfortable, clean and spacious. They should do something though about the furniture and decor in the lobby. The look has to be updated to make it more airy and modern.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Because of the excellent location of the hotel, one can walk to almost all the points of interest in the city.

location, architecture and service
great hotel situated in the heart on district 1 on Dong khoi street. the hotel is truely majestic, built in early 1900's and renovated recently. the service is impeccable and the rooms lavish, the view of the river is truely relaxing and at night you can have a drink at the roof bar overlooking the saigon river. very close to the opera house and many other landmarks such as the cathedral and the reunification palace. overall great hotels to stay in
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : very central with great access to the city's must see places

The hotel is within walking distance to all major sights & shopping. Pho at breakfast buffet was delicious. The view from the hotel rooftop bar was great. The hotel is a french-colonial and the rooms are consistently decorated with this theme. The polished wood floor & furniture were lovely. We had a room that opened onto the pool, it was very quiet.

Elegant Hotel
Beautiful historic hotel
Spacious Rooms
Proximity to Saigon River
Check in
Food
Breakfast Closing at 9:30 am
The Majestic is a truly elegant hotel, with Chandeliers, spacious rooms and a very glamorous lobby. It is a beautiful representation of French Colonial Architecture, and the rooms in the new wing are furnished beautifully. The hotel pool is lovely, and the SPA, and gym facilities are well equipped. In addition there is an ATM just outside the hotel.
The food and beverage (and F&B Service) were a little disappointing. At the pool, we would have indulged in many cocktails, if we could have attracted service. In the two bars overlooking the river, the service was good but the cocktails and food were disappointing. If you want really good food in Saigon, I would recommend the Caravelle. The check in was lovely, we were escorted to a chair, while the receptionist came to us to collect the required documentation. She then escorted us personally to our room (P.S. we are in our 30’s not requiring assistance). Our room had everything we needed, plentiful amenities, the laundry service was excellent and our towels were replaced twice daily. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom had excellent water pressure in the bathroom.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Mekong Delta is an excellent day trip.

Good Service, super bar, good location ("posh" area, clean
Price, does not give the real Saigon feeling
Had a great stay and would recommend for people who are looking for a nice and high standard hotel in Saigon.

Service, location, view,rooms, rates, breakfast.
Bar on 8th floor has a spectacular view but, at night, is a bit on the dark side, literally.
The hotel was everything we expected it to be. I can't really say a bad thing about it. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. Hard to believe this is a government hotel. Spectacular views on both 8th floor for drinks at sunset and on the 5th for breakfast. And what a breakfast it was!! Superb.
Nightlife Tip : "The bars" are within walking distance.

Rooftop Breakfast with view of Saigon River, air conditioning, comfortable beds, nice sheets, liked the bathroom, staff was very nice, liked the lobby and the exterior
didn't use the pool as it didn't really appeal, spa services seemed over priced and facility not esp. attractive
I liked the hotel a lot and would recommend it to my friends. I thought it was reasonably priced and very comfortable. I felt safe and the staff was very pleasant. The food could have been better but I enjoyed breakfast because I loved the open rooftop and the view of the Saigon River in the morning is wonderful. We slept well in the comfortable beds with nice sheets. I loved the old world feel of the French colonial hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Pho 24 is an easy solution for a cheap, fast and tasty lunch.

the staff, the rooms, the restaurant, the view, the bar, the food
the spa area could be more attractive
We have traveled around the world and stayed at many fine and not so fine hotels and this one is one of the best. We cannot say enough about the courteous staff. The refreshing pool in the middle of this large and noisy city. The wonderful massages although the massage area could be more attractive. Our large, clean well appointed room with a view or the river. The outdoor restaurant on the top floor with a view of the river. A truly international breakfast, one of the most beautifully presented and delicious we have had. The bar with its view, great drinks and entertainment. In Saigon, stay no where else, but here.
Hotel Feature Tip : roof top bar, don't miss it

the beds and the rooftop restaurant
food could be better in lounge downstairs
I really enjoyed our stay at the Majestic. The location is great and it is easy to walk around Dong Khoi and find shops and restaurants. It is also walking distance to some of the museums and the post office. I think the hotel is very attractive and the rooms comfortable and well equipped. If I ever get back I would happily stay here again.
Travel tip : Tricia and Verona make great clothes very quickly.

Excellent location with views over the river.
Welcoming staff in luxurious foyer.
Well appointed hotel rooms with everything you could need for a comfortable stay.
Well situated on the edge of a street with good shopping also.
Hotel bathroom a bit dark.
Live entertainment on the 8th floor was too loud and not up to the standard expected for a 5 star hotel.
We booked this hotel on the internet having done our homework. We were delighted with our choice. Staff were polite, immaculately dressed and also on hand to help. We were able to book any sightseeing tours through the hotel and they gave good advice. We also booked golf through the hotel and that was a good move! In a nutshell, I would highly recommend this hotel. Also, an international breakfast served with many choices - excellent!!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Helpful when it came to booking a tour and golf.

the bedroom opened out on to the swimming pool area, fresh fruit everyday in the room. Location was central best hotel in this district
Everything was great can highly recommend this hotel and staff. The hotel was extremely clean and tidy, the food was excellent with a choice of in-house restaurants. Great bar over looking the city or a very relaxing lobby bar with nightly live music, the bed room was very quiet with excellent air conditioning, and a extremely large bed with well stocked mini bar and bath essentials.

Great location in the heart of the city, we enjoyed breakfast with amazing skyline views over the Saigon river. Our room was very big and the staff were all excellent. The hotel offered fantastic facilities including rooftop bars, cafe's, bakeries, swimming pool and one of the only hotels in Saigon to have a casino.
City centre location
The only con is that it may be a bit pricey for some, however, i believe you get what yopu paid for.
We stayed at the Majestic for 3 days on our honeymoon and although it is more expensive that other hotels, it was worth every penny. The staff were excellent from the beginning (they gave us an upgraded room than we had booked) and the facilities were all excellent. Location was brilliant - right next to the river, however, the sounds and hustle and bustle from the saigon streets were not apparent when inside the hotel which was peaceful and relaxed at all times. A wealth of facilities and teh highlight was definitely enjoying breakfast with jaw dropping views of the saigon river and ;ife of the city below. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and i would recommend to anyone who wants to spend a bit more money on a high class hotel.

Elegant, classy riverside location. Large suites. Historic. Great shopping nearby.
Need to ask for a room on the interior. Riverside rooms tend to be noisier, although friends who stayed in these rooms did not complain.

Stayed here for 5 nights at begining of march 09. The hotel standards were very high with a classic touch. Breakfast on the patio was lovely. The hotel is located close to all the sights and we found we could walk to most of them including the jade pagoda. We booked a tour to the Mekong delta with the hotels tour operator. There was just the two of us, we had a limo, driver and guide for the day. Bit expensive and you can get cheaper if you look around but we enjoyed it.
