Cool airy reception area exuding French colonial opulence. Bedrooms good size and very comfortable and classy. The breakfast terrace on the fifth floor is a wonderfully sunny place to watch the world below go by with panoramic views across the river. The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful.
The only drawback to staying is the cost. We treated it as part of Saigon's French colonial experience.
Restaurant Tip : Hoang Long Chinese restaurant. Authentic excellent Chinese food as witnessed by the number of large Chinese groups both business and family crowding the rooms out and evidently enjoying the hearty meals. At the end of the main course restaurant provides a complimentary dish of fruit

Location of hotel, staff helpfulness, great swimming pool,
bathroom good but could have a better condition shower screen (not old fashion shower curtain).
The location of the hotel was terrific, easy to find and easy to walk to other places wanted to visit. Staff were very helpful with any enquiries. Room was really pleasant - things like fruit in the room is very nice, chocolates at night. Fantastic retreat from the wonderful crazy HCMC outside the doors.
Hotel Feature Tip : Great buffet breakfast at the hotel

- they provide a seated, multi-person reception upon arrival, with mocktail
- great location, 5 star quality and great price compared to Singapore 3 star hotel prices!
- very few cons, and very minor!
- if you want to know the time in the middle of the night, perhaps a fluoro clock radio
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Majestic Saigon. In my opinion, it is in a class of it's own in HCMC Saigon, providing a unique "colonial" atmosphere similar to that of Raffles Singapore, but many times more affordable. If there is anything to beware, it is that the Hotel Travel Desk is best suited for business people and holiday couples, not holiday individuals/singles - they only provide Private Day and Adventure Tours and Dinners, not group tours with strangers. If you want to meet strangers, you should goto the backpacking part of town.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Couples wanting private tours are served well. If you're single wanting to be tacked onto a group of strangers, goto backpacking district or visit Level 5 of nearby Renaissance Hotel for their travel service (Buffalo Tours).

Very stylish hotel, great rooms
Shower not separate from the bath; even hotel guests have to pay to use the sauna and steam room
An excellent hotel. I had the Colonial Pool Deluxe room with a shared balcony and views of the pool. I was on the 3rd floor. I booked the pool view room as i thought it would be quieter than the city view room. I can't say whether you can hear the traffic from the city view rooms, but I can say that from the pool view room I couldn't hear the Saigon traffic at all.
Bathroom was very nice, although quite small and it didn't have a separate shower, just one over the bath. Ceilings in the room were very high and the decor was in true 'colonial' style.
Breakfast is served in the nice rooftop bar, although it gets quite hot up there if you arent under the canopy (where there fans). Great location next to the river and Dong Khoi.
It was disappointing that even hotel guests have to pay to use the sauna and steam room (about 8 dollars for 1 hour) - not expensive, but in every other 5 star hotel I've stayed in (and indeed any star hotel I've stayed in) those kind of facilities are free of charge for hotel guests. The pool was free of charge, and is nice, with a nice pool bar.
Hotel Feature Tip : If you are considering the Continental Hotel as well, be aware that although it looks just as nice on the outside as the Majestic, on the inside the rooms in the Majestic are FAR superior - I had a look at the Suite in the Continental, and it was far inferior to my room (not a suite) in the Majestic.

Very well restored. The rooms were great, and the hotel has a classic, historical feel to it. Breakfast on the 5th floor is a great way to start the day.
Wait at the front desk and concierge can take longer than it should.
We very much enjoyed staying at the Majestic in Saigon. Service was friendly, and the outdoor breakfast buffet was a great way to start the day. Saigon is small, so the Majestic is convenient to the entire city, and it's across the street from the river, and right now Dong Khoi, the main tourist street. Service can take a while at reception, and we decided we didn't want to eat at the hotel's restaurants other than for breakfast. Overall, we have decided to stay there again.

Position! Position! Position!
Friendly and attentive staff.
Great rooms and facilities.
Nothing important that we discovered. The only thing was that the small mantle clock ticked very loudly during the quiet at night but this remedied by hiding it in the wardrobe with the spare pillow over it!
Visiting a city one learns many things. One being that most of the locals prefer to still call their home city of Ho Chi Minh City by its old name Sai Gon. Yes. That's another thing, "Saigon" is actually two words in Vietnamese! Another is (and confirmed by our stay there) that the Majestic Hotel is one of the city's great hotels. It is an institution and has been since 1925 and, although its original external outside appearance has altered slightly over the decades (we liked the original), it's great position and reputation for quality and service have not altered. Situated on the river it is wonderfully positioned that those lucky enough to stay here can amble to all the best shops and restaurants. Those that are not, are within a short taxi ride away. Taxis are always available out the front. We opted for a river view room which was well appointed and double-glazed to keep the traffic noise out. Air conditioner worked extremely well and the room was appointed with the facilities you would expect from a hotel of this calibre. Staff was very friendly and helpful although on one occasion we did have difficulty communicating with one member of the staff. Overall, we had no problem though. Breakfasts were great. Lots to chose from and were enjoyed from the fifth floor terrace with a fabulous view overlooking the river - great way to start the day. Food did not disappoint. Even at the end of one exhausting day when we just opted for room service. Not a cheap hotel and by no means the most expensive, should you chose to stay at the Majestic you will not be disappointed.
Hotel Feature Tip : Well appointed and very comfortable hotel in an enviable riverside position close to all the city's sights and restaurants.

Comfy room
Friendly and informative staff
Historical hotel
Great location
Nice big bathroom
First room we checked into was very small but thankfully the staff moved us into a bigger room.
Lovely hotel located very centrally. The old touches really made a difference and i would definately stay at this hotel again as well as recommend it to friends and family. The hotel had a nice poolas well as a big delicious breakfast buffet and best of all it was one floor up from us meaning literally a twenty minute walk. The buffet at New Years was fab.
Restaurant Tip : Just around the corner there are some great little restaurants at very reasonable prices. Literally three minutes walk. Perfect.

- location
- old colonial style
- decoration
- terraces
- bathroom a little old
- swimming pool
- spa
We have spend the end of the year in Majestic hotel. This hotel has the very best location in Ho Chi Minh. We had a colonial river view room which I highly recommend. the staff is nice, the colonial ambiance is great and above all the 2 outside terraces are fabulous for a drink overviewing the Saigon river. We spent the new year's eve in the hotel, the gala was great.
The negative points are: the swimming pool which is too small and no sun and the spa which is dark, old and not attractive at all which is very deceiving in an Asian country.
But we will definitely recommend to any body to stay in the Majestic hotel.

- location
- decoration
- rooms with river view
- 2 terraces
- spa
- swimming pool
- beauty salon
The Majestic hotel has the best location in Ho Chi Minh city. Ask for a room with the river view because the one on the swimming pool are dark and very deceiving. The staff is nice, the decoration is splendid especially for the end of the year.
The breakfast on the terrace (or inside) is great with plenty of good foods from every where. The view is very nice.
the spa and the swimming pool are definitely places to be renew because they are not attractive at all but there are so many things to do in HCM that you do not need to go to the swimming pool.
If you like the old colonial times do not hesitate to stay in the Majestic hotel.

Beautiful colonial architecture; Spacious rooms; Attentive staff; Good breakfast buffet; Rooftop river views
Our bathroom in the old wing was beautiful, but our shower/tub leaked water on the floor. Rooms facing the street and river can be very noisy with street traffic.
We stayed in a Colonial Deluxe Pool View room and it was lovely with very high ceiling, big wood paned window, and beautiful wood flooring. We requested an early check-in and were able to get into our room at 10:30 am which was great. Glad we opted for a pool side room, as the front/river facing rooms seemed very noisy from the constant traffic outside. We loved the historic architecture and design, and they have done a good job restoring its original charm. The two rooftop bars were great for a sunset drink overlooking the river. Look forward to staying here in the future!
Travel tip : Don't miss having a sunset drink on the 5th floor and 8th floor rooftops!

Location; the look of the hotel; the rooms; almost everything !
This hotel is location, location, location! It is located at the end of the "the" main street in Ho Chi Minh called "Dong Khoi". No need to worry about not being able to get around the city by foot. In addition, the hotel has real character. The rooms are nice & clean. The buffet breakfast was superb. The only complaint (and this is inconsequential) is that the lifts were slow! Overall, you will be not be disappointed.

perfect choice especially for 1st timer to the city. The hotel has everything in history yet a great team of staff to make you feel like royalty
Hotel Majestic Saigon is a perfect choice, especially for 1st-time comers. The hotel is in great shape, even with it's long history. We stay in the old wing, which has very nice river view and very high ceiling. All the details from bath robe to slippers are into details. Even they have their logo made with mother-of-pearl on the tissue box! The bathroom is also a show piece, all marble from top down, and very nicely designed! The bath tub is very big! I took a nice warm bath almost every night. Breakfast is very good and you can enjoy street and river view while you are eating.
Hotel Feature Tip : You can ask for different types of pillows. If you are 1st timer, highly recommended to join the local tour from the hotel. It's really worth the money. They have great tour guide. The wonderful thing is we took the hotel's brand new Mercedes-Benz with hotel's own driver to places, even though the destination would be 2 hours away. It's a nice treat, especially for the terrible traffic in the city

Friendly Staff, Breakfast, Location, Great historic building, Roof top bar, Pool, Gym ...
We were not planning to stay here again this trip but we had such a great experience the first time around we decided to spend our last night in Vietnam here. And we weren't disappointed. All the Christmas decorations at the hotel and in the city got us into a festive mood. The moment we walked in the door the doorman said "You've stayed with us before, Welcome Home!" And that was exactly what it felt like. Another great trip and as always a very friendly, attentive staff.
Restaurant Tip : Went to Xu for Dinner. Great contemporary Vietnamese cuisine in a stylish modern room. Its a short walk from the Hotel.

Service, the historic feel, rooftop bars.
Staying at the majestic feels like you’ve stepped back in time to the days of the empire, and is a real sanctuary from the madness of Saigon. The rooms aren’t amazingly luxurious, I’m sure there are plenty of 5 star hotels that are better equipped, but it has a really classical old feel to it which we loved. We’ve stayed in both the cheaper rooms as well as the River view, and both are lovely, the latter is much more spacious. Whatever you choose, I highly recommend the place and will be back there again.
Hotel Feature Tip : Gin and tonics on the 8th floor rooftop bar, magical at night...
