Big room, nice helpful staff, great view at the breakfast buffet.

Spa area - not really up to date. Toilets next to pool were very smelly.

We stayed at the Majestic Saigon Hotel at the end of October. When we arrived we were welcomed with a smile and the staff were very helpful. Always opening doors and helping carrying things. We booked the cheapest room, and were pleased to see it was very spacious. We traveled with our daughter who is 2 years old, and there where plenty of space, for both suitcases and a baby stroller. The bathroom was a little small, but nothing to complain about. All you needed was in the bathroom, and if you couldn't find it in the room, the staff was quick to get it for you. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Travel tip : Look in to the small streets crossing Dong Khoi. There is nice restaurants and shops. Try Lemongrass, simple decor, but very good food.

Excellent service with friendly staff. Location with view of Saigon River. Historical, including the old style architecture as well as the people there.

Information officers (tour organiser) generally were unhelpful and gave poor and ill-considered advice. Bar and poolside food and drinks were very expensive and did not represent value for money e.g. Margarita was average, US$5+ for a local beer? Cannot tan much at the pool due to limited sun.

I would stay at the Majestic Hotel Saigon again as overall it provided the comfortable, relaxing and warm experience we needed. The renovated colonial wing is more expensive, but we loved the space and the older style. The history of this hotel is palpable from its architecture to the people who once stayed there including the writer Graeme Greene. It is well located and the staff were very nice. The included breakfast was a fabulous way to start the day with local, Asian and western choices, but the bar and poolside drinks and food could be better done and cheaper.

Restaurant Tip : Go to La Fourchette Restaurant around the corner for reasonably priced and real French food.

Great location. Very central and quiet.

The breakfast area could be air conditioned. Very hot even early in the morning.

We liked the location of the hotel. Easy to walk. Not too much traffic and noise. The staff were good. They even gave me flowers and a birthday cake on my birthday, which I thought was a very touching and certainly appreciated the thoughtfulness.

Well equipped rooms Great location

Pool very small and not very usable if more than 2-3 people in at once

A very well appointed hotel with good rooms, nice coctail bar etc. Location of the hotel is very good, approximately 5 minute walk from the Rex, City Hall and other famous sites. Very close to a good selection of bars and restaurants. Helpful staff in the hotel who organised a fantastic private tour to the Mekong Delta and Chu Chi tunnels with the best tour guide we met in the whole of Vietnam.

The hotel occupies a very handy position in the city, everything was aesthetically what you would expect of a 5 star hotel and they did a great breakfast.

The service varied widely, some staff were very accommodating to your needs, the others were snooty and stuck up.

Overall the Majestic Hotel is very beautiful to look at and is decorated to the highest standards. We had a deluxe room which was ok but for the money a similar room could have been found in a 3 star hotel. Prices in the hotel for room service and the bar were SUPER inflated and the service provided by staff varied widely, some were very accommodating, some extremely snooty. Nothing comes for free at this hotel. The hotel itself promotes a free airport pick up no matter what room you are staying in, it fails to mention this is only if you book with them direct. Therefore we had to foot the taxi bill to the airport and as they had not responded to my email, were not met at the airport. When we asked if as a gesture of goodwill they would take us to the airport for free as we did not get our pick up we were told we would have to pay 30 dollars. We walked outside and picked up a cab ourselves and it cost us 7 dollars. On the plus side, the breakfast I must say is delicious. I would not stay here again as I believe we could stay in a lower class of hotel and leave happier, as a five star hotel the guests should be treated as such.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The war memorial museum in Ho Chi Minh is superb, and excellent value for money.

The feeling of history, a good history of travelling in style. The Breakfast buffet was a real pleasure to sit outside overlooking the River and enjoy. The room itself was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The marble bathroom was very clean well appointed.

Our room, though very beautiful and spacious, overlooked a brick wall!! Natural light and views were non existant.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, whether you are a couple on a leisurely vacation, a family, single person or on a business trip. The staff makes you feel very welcome, you will look forward to breakfast each morning, the location is excellent. The immediate neighborhood has upscale restaurants and shops to stroll around. Taxi cabs and other transportation are readily available.

Shopping Tip : Better shops and restaurants are located near this hotel. The market is nearby, but very chaotic.

Central location and access to all modes of transports. All areas were clean and staff were friendly.

Construction in progress, causing some disruption.

We had a short stay of two nights, which provides a good base for us due to its central location. The food was good and the staff welcoming.

We like the location, staff and the beautiful hotel.

We loved the buffet breakfast, one of the very best we have experienced although quite warm sitting outside. The view from our room was a big plastic advertisement. Would have loved to have seen the river from our room or something besides an advertisment.

The Magic Majestic Hotel, it was our first visit and it won't be the last. We are returning in 4 weeks and will stay there again. The staff are very friendly and helpful at all times of the day and night. We thought the fitness room was good, although we didnt spend much time there, we were busy planning our trip further north to Da Nang, Hoi An, Na Trang, Dalat and Mui Ne. On our next visit we must eat at the restuarant in the evening which provides a spectacular buffet, with king prawns and all types of seafood plus steaks and many more great varieties of food, salad and desserts. We really do look forward to our return visit to the Magic Majestic!!!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The hotel was a short walk to the market and many restaurants. Great location and great hotel.

This is a good looking, well positioned hotel. Breakfast is great and the bar is nice for a rest.

There were renovations going on so external noise and smells were not pleasant. The 'travel centre' booked the wrong train tickets.

This is a high end hotel. Our room was nice if a little worn. The fruit in the room was a nice touch and welcome in the heat. All the staff we polite and friendly. Sadly, we had two not so great experiences here. The first was that there was some renovation going on so we experienced external noise in our room and a burning smell through the air vents. The second was more inconveniencing. We are independent travelers who wanted to take the train up the coast. We inquired at the front desk as to where we could book tickets and they advised it would be much easier for them to book them. We rarely do this but as we had a lot of things we wanted to do we thought we would take them up on the offer. We explained our plan and that we wanted a sleeper bunk each. They went away to book the tickets and when they returned with the time and cost we again reiterated we wanted sleepers and that the cost seems low. They confirmed they were sleepers so we booked and paid. Guess what... when we arrived at the train we had two seats. Not a great experience.

Nightlife Tip : The hotel bars in Saigon are the tops! Go have a kir royale and relax in the warm night air.

Nice rooms Nice people, very discret Hotel very well situated

The breakfast is not so good. Could be improved

I think that the hotel is one of the best place in Saigon. The area is very nice to have a walk. The different common spaces of the hotel have a lot of charme: the terrasses, the swimming pool, etc... The only think I found not so good was the quality of the food for the breakfast. It could be improved to reach the quality standard of the best hotels: fresh juices, well cooked food, more choice

Shopping Tip : Very good place to go walking and shopping

The Saigon Majestic Hotel is situated just close to Saigon River. Its service, equipment and rooms are superb, and so is the very friendly and helpful staff. You will absolutely enjoy your breakfast or a cocktail from the roof garden which allows you to have a smashing look at the river and the ferries crossing it.

Travel tip : Have a cocktail at night in the restaurant of the roof garden.
