Cleanliness, location central and good for walking to explore. Bedtime stories delivered each night staff in ground floor bar not very attentive after first service. should have wireless internet in rooms Researched and booked the Majestic following traveller reviews. The hotel was very good quality and breakfasts were sumptuous. Would be better to extend the breakfast hours for when you don't have to go anywhere early in the morning or have a day free to relax. Stay in the old wing recommended for character and space
Restaurant Tip : go to la Fourchette for good french food - 2 mins walk away.

For Muslims, the hotel breakfast has a very small choice of food.
Shopping Tip : There is a great arts and craft shop with very high quality of lacqer and wooden things in front of Sheraton Hotel.

Restaurant Tip : If you get sick of Local food and need a western fix, try Wild house or Skewers, they are across the road from each other.

Travel tip : Tell them in advance if you are on your honeymoon, we were given a bouquet of flowers on arrival and a photo of us which was later framed and presented to us on check-out. There were also rose petals in the room.

great rooftop bar My favorite hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Nicely located right by the Saigon river it has great character and offers excellent service.
Ideal for anyone who wants to get a taste of the old Saigon. Compared to other 5star hotels in Saigon the service and the cleanliness are outstanding, and the rooftop bar is the best one in Ho Chi Minh City.
Would come back anytime.

Whilst there are cheaper hotels in District 1, if you can afford the extra, stay at the Majestic.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The tours booked through the hotel were excellent value.

We checked out early. However our flight was not until later in the evening. They were very accomocating about storing our luggage, allowing access several times during the day and even allowing us to shower.

Seems to have a reasonable spa option. However, booked up, so we did not get a chance to use it.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : War remnants museum and the Ngon restaurant opposite the Palace are must-sees.

Great Location and Amazing rooms.Fantastic rates through Agoda. Wanted to stay 1 more Night when returned to Ho Chi Ming but hotel Prices were too expensive. Hotel Beautiful & Elegant and very comfortable our room high over looking the river with balcony.
Restaurant on roof top giving Fansatic views over Ho CHI Ming & river area. This also offering the Best Breakfast I have ever seen. Staff very helpfull and friendly.Located on the river on a fantastic shopping strip.
Travel tip : We booked all internal travel for Vietnam through a well english spoken Vietnamese lady In a travel center a couple of doors up from Majestic. very professional and best prices.

Great hotel with everything polished and sparkling. Renovations since our last stay in 2001 had upgraded it to 5-star and apart from the lovely colonial building and furnishings, we felt it gained in glamour status, but had lost some of its 'local' atmosphere.
Good location for all the designer label stores and within walking distance of restaurants and many tourist spots.
Travel tip : We stayed at another colonial era hotel in Don Khoi St. 2 weeks later in another old wing pool side room, that had an ante-room/sitting room. Standard was comparable, room was better, staff were more open and friendly, and the rate was much cheaper ($US 42 a night) so while we enjoyed the Majestic, this other hotel would be our choice next time.

It's a pleasure to have a drink in the evening at the lobby bar, with piano music and songs and a very nice atmosphere. I definitely will go back and recommend the hotel.
Shopping Tip : For a first time in Saigon I just didn't stop shopping the quality and workmanship are very good and prices and very low so enjoy and bring an empty suitcase.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you have plans visiting Cu Chi tunnels and Cao Dai Temple, just book a $ 5 tour. Tours are all the same and private tour will only cost you 10 times this amount.
