Good location: Walking distant to shopping, market, restaurants, services; Served decent continental breakfast daily with a variety of selection; Friendly and very helpful staffs.
Loud noises from construction of the new hotel next door daily could be a problem.
Good for your money at this price range. However, the loud noise due to the on going construction next door could be a major factor if you are inside your room between 7:00AM and 4:30PM and required some resting. My stay is between November 2nd and November 5th, 2009.
Not sure when the construction is complete. I have to cancel my 2nd reservation due to this inconvenience.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Ask the front desk for a map with many attraction within the walking distance from Hotel. Also, Hotel staff very helpful if you would required other services like: ATM & bank location, SIM card & cell phone services.

Good location near independence palace, just down the street to Ben Then Markets
Construction site next door - they finish late and start very early!
I booked this one for our first night, it was very clean and in a good location. The only downside was the early morning (5am) noise from the work next door! And the Spa was a little dodgy! The breakfast was nothing to write home about but we had dinner at the markets and it was DEVINE and only cost about $16AUD for four of us!!!

The SHOWER!!!!! The shower is strong, hot, and big. Best shower in Ho Chi Minh by far. Also has a great restaurant, and walking distance to night life. I stayed here twice on my trip and really enjoyed it.
Be nice if they had an airport pick up service. Housekeeping seems to always be lingering around the floors and outside your rooms. A little creepy!
I stayed in over 9 hotels while I was touring in Vietnam for 3 weeks, and I liked the Kingston the best. Mainly in part because of the shower. Never enjoyed showering so much! Also the chefs in the hotel were great cooks. Good Morning breakfast. Overall I would definitely stay there again.

- Excellent Location
- Decent Clean Room and Bathroom
- Free Internet
- Decent Breakfast
- Very noisy at rear of the building
- Massage Receptionist Rip-offs
- Bizarre Country Music in Foyer
- Weird Smells in Corridors
If there is one word that describes this hotel is "Quirky" a kind of modern day, "Faulty Towers".
Funny smells all around, strange country music in the corridors, internet room in the dining area, stairways that are so small that they can only be squeezed through and on and on.
In general it is a decent hotel for the money(however, I was told later I could have gotten the same class hotel for half the price at any hotel in the street (off peak season).
Also the location is excellent for District 1 tourists. Its a 2 minute walk to either way for the markets, Palace or Museums.
For couples - stay away
For buisness people - decent short-term value
Shopping Tip : Beware Hotel Massage Receptionists are rip-off artists.
In Bin Tanh markets, don't pay more than 50,000VND
for Men's or Ladies adult Polo tops and 40,000 for chilodrens Polo tops.

Hotel is in an excellent location - just down the road from the market in District 1. It was quiet at night time. A good hotel for the basics.

A great find and we would stay there again. We stayed in deluxe city view room (level 3). Beware that rooms on floors 1 to 3 have no windows unless city view or back of building. Walking distance to everything - Ben Thanh Market and upmarket District 1 shopping areas. Short taxi trip to backpacker area to book tours (cheapest place to book tours). Felt safe for sole female to wander around when partner "shopped out". Taxis at front door and Palace a short stroll away. In summary, a good quality 3 star hotel in a great location.
Restaurant Tip : Across the road (green painted building) try Chi Nghia restaurant - very modern, clean and fabulous food!

Despite the location, I can not recommend this hotel and would not return, especially at the rate charged as I can find much better for $25 per night less.
Restaurant Tip : Ty Coz restaurant at 178 Pasteur Street is an excellent, reasonably priced French restaurant within 10 minutes walking distance.

Taxi fare from airport to hotel about USD6 to USD7. The hotel has its in-house massage & mani/pedicure saloon
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Basically, you only need to go Ben Thanh market to buy all the local products eg. lacquerware, Vietnamese figurines. Able to bargain for 30-40% off the initial prices that they quoted you.
