Location - right near Reunification Palace and other main sights, but very quiet
Immaculate, clean rooms
Great service My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Lan Lan 1 hotel in November 2009. We found it to be excellent value for money and suitable for tourism and business purposes alike - the wifi in the rooms was actually of a decent strength, unlike most hotels claiming to have wifi in Vietnam!
Room decor was marble floors and neutral, with a big flat screen TV, cold minibar (again, sometimes unusual in Vietnam in this price range), and what looked like a new bathroom.
Breakfast was varied and acceptable, with a mixture of Vietnamese and Western food. And the staff were extremely helpful - some of the best service we've had in Vietnam.
What really sells this hotel though is the location, set within easy walking distance of all major sights, and ideal if you are doing a quick hit of the major museums (Reunification Palace, War Remnants) and other attractions (Ben Thanh market, Opera house, up-market shopping district).
Would definitely stay here again.
Ask for a room on the 4th floor or above to ensure your room has a window.
Restaurant Tip : The park between Reunification Palace & cathedral has a number of nice cafes & restaurants.

breakfast the lan lan 1 hotel (across the street there is lan lan 2) is located 7 minutes walk from the night life section of saigon with all the restaurants bars and 5 star hotels. also 5 min. walk from the various tourist day sites. The staff is very accommodating, they will help u get around, book tours for u and all speak good english. The breakfast is wonderful, actually better food than many of the restaurants i attended. the rooms are very very clean

nice staff,nice room,very fast internet,i guess is around 3mbps,nice breakfast Travel tip : i dont know what is the fuss about ben thanh market???its just an ordinary market w/c sells very expensive goods w/ low quality products.i say goods in the philippines r more cheap but w/ much higher quality,and majority of filipino can speak english w/c will make travelling around more easy,the only saving grace in vietnam is the cu chi tunnel,i enjoyed my tour there,so i highly recomend it!
