Sound from street

The location is superb. This hotel is located in a short walking distance from Bin Thanh market and Zen plaza (departement store). The room quite small but very clean and all facilities in the room is in very good condition. Bathroom and toilet are small too but clean and full of amennities. Safe is provided in room which is very convenience. Staffs are very frienly and polite. Secutity guards availble in front which make me feel good when I stay here.

Restaurant Tip : Delicious food near hotel "Kim restaurant".

good location, good breakfast, good customer service

all facilities available only in liberty 4 which is within walking distance.

Liberty 3 is valve for money. the only minus point is it does not have any facilities, you need to make your way to liberty 4 for facilities like gym etc. the service attendant is very friendly and helpful. is worth going back for a stay again.cheers.

Well located in the heart of the city. Tour agents abound in the area and it is only 20 minutes from the Airport. Friendly and honest staff who were always helpful.

Internet was not always working.

A unique modern hotel that provides excellent service a good breakfast and is well located. Tourist travel is easy from this Hotel and we would strongly reccommend a stay here for the more budget conscious senior who wants a mid-range clean accomodation and a quiet nights sleep. The security personnel are helpful and conscientious and it is located in a safe walking area.

Shopping Tip : Close to the famed markets of the city and within walking distance

The location is excellent near the Ben Thanh Market, Reunification Palace, Post Office, and Many Restaurants and Shopping.

The hotel has one Elevator and sometimes takes much time to get to your room.

The Hotel Staff are very friendly and excellent at helping out on where to shop, Restaurants, and Clubs in the area. The Location of the hotel is excellent for District 1 and you are near all the attractions of HCMC. There are many local Travel Agents that can offer great deals on travel within Viet Nam if you are looking to start off in Sai Gon and travel to other areas without an itinerary before you arrive.

Shopping Tip : Ben Thanh Market is a 5 minute walk and has many opportunities to get bargains for Souvenirs.

location, buffet breakfast, accomodating staffs

expensive,

I stayed in Liberty 3 Hotel last March 10 to 12, 2009. Perfection location for tourist specially for solo traveler like me. Very close to Ben Thanh market and other restuarants, stores and pubs catering to foreigners. There are many travel agencies also nearby who could arrange for your tour to different sites near Ho Chi Minh. But the hotel rate is a little expensive considering the kind of accomodation you get. And the hotel has a policy of holding on to your passport for the duration of your stay. Hotel staffs are also very accomodating and helpful. I might stay again in this Hotel if I could get a good deal.

Friendly staff, clean room, good shower, great location. The room had an easy to use safe. Despite the hotel being located on a very busy "24-hour" road, our room appeared to be quite well noise insulated. We also overlooked a park, which was better than some views I've had from hotel windows. It also had a better-than-expected internet capability.

It was rather expensive for a 3-star hotel (although I'm led to believe hotels in Ho Chi Minh are quite expensive in comparison to other cities in the Far-Eastern region). Our room was clearly a smoking room as there was that familiar smoke odour until we ventilated it ourselves. The breakfast was extremely poor as the hotel is still trying to cater for Western tastes (unless you like jellied-goats eyes!), although the restaurant sits on top a lovely coffee shop.

Vietnam is still getting to grips with tourism, which is no bad thing. So the hotel was fine, taking that into consideration, although I would say it was quite expensive in relative terms. It had a slight tired feel to it in certain areas apart from the lobby area. The staff was very friendly and looked after our every need. The hotel is very close to the Grand Market, The Reunification Palace and the War Memorial Museum, if you like walking amongst the craziest drivers in the World! Also, the hotel's location is close to a number of local restaurants and bars, which still retain a local feel, rather than having a full-on tourist feel to them. I would recoomend the hotel if you are not on a strict budget.

Nightlife Tip : Turning left out of the lobby of the hotel, cross the road at the corner to the opposite corner and visit the restaurant/bar called "Allez Boo". The staff was very friendly in a local quaint way and the food on the 3rd floor was the best we experienced in Ho Chi Minh, where you can sit and watch the craziest driving in the World, where there are no laws at all! After dinner, go and sit in the bar on the ground floor. There are a few hawkers with whom you have to contend, plus young kids selling flowers, chewing gum and paper tissues. However, there was one young boy aged 5 called Gry, with whom our party just fell in love every night. He spoke good English and danced to the different type of music coming out of the bar. He was always under the watchful eye of his mother and, whilst I do not condone this sort of thing and I think it's a disgrace, she was only trying to make a living, despite taking advantage of her son. My girlfriend and I, plus my sister and her hubby, all knew that that we shouldn't encourage this sort of thing, we weren't going to stop it in our 3 days there, if at all. So, if you are in Allez Boo and you meet Gry, try and help him without pity, as he is quite the most fantastic and memorable 5 year old we've ever met.

Close to all the back packing action, bars, cafes etc. room clean, with bacony, fifth floor, didnt hear much traffic.

always hassled by men who want to take u on 1 hour tours of Ho Chi Minh how ever conn you into going on an extended tour, in this event he was almost taking us to cambodia and overnight there if we hadn't. this happens everywhere in HCMC how ever they do often hover infront of hotel also. beware.. staff have trouble communicating in english. only simply communication works.

Customer service, safety, central location, many bars and restaurants in the area

Breakfast buffet at Highlands Coffee does not offer many vegetarian options

The Liberty 3 is located right on Pham Ngu Lao across from a beautiful park and in the heart of the backpacker district. The hotel is very clean and very secure. While we initially had problems securing the room we reserved due to booking issues, we eventually worked things out with hotel staff and stayed in a really nice suite for four nights. We had a king bed and a separate living area with a TV, couch and mini-bar. We could stand on the balcony and watch the city move beneath us. Our balcony overlooked the park with great views of Saigon. Surprisingly, it was very quiet at night as the dual-pane windows kept the street noise to a minimum. The service provided by hotel staff was exceptional. Rooms were always very clean with freshly laundered towels and linens. The doormen and front desk clerks were extremely helpful and made an extra effort to speak English, even though my girlfriend spoke Vietnamese. The hotel is close to just about everything. The park is right across the street, Ben Thanh Market is about 15 minutes away, and Reunification Palace and Dong Khoi are only about a 20-30 minute walk (as long as you can make it across the busy streets). Cabs can take you anywhere quickly and the hotel can arrange tours to the Mekong Delta or Cu Chi Tunnels any day of the week. For nightlife, Allez Boo is right next door and there are many other bars and restaurants in the area. Apocalypse Now, Q Bar and other clubs are just a cab ride away. Expect to pay between $8-10 USD for a cab to the airport.

Restaurant Tip : Check the alley just east of the hotel (about 100 feet down Pham Ngu Lao from the hotel entrance) for some really good vegetarian Vietnamese food.

The Liberty 3 Hotel is located at the corner of the De Tham St. and the Pham Ngu Lao St. There are many foreign tourists walking along the De Tham St. and the staffs at the restaurants are well trained compared with others targeting foreign tourists.

They have policy to keep their guest’s passport and return it when he checks out.

The door man was a kind person, paying attention to all the guests coming in and out and I gave him 10000 VND as a tip. The room was clean enough for a business traveler or a family. The breakfast was served on the 2nd floor of the café shop and not so gorgeous but good enough for me. The famous travel agency “Sinh Cafe” was very close, and it was easy to join a tour which starts around 8 am in front of their office. The Cu Chi tunnel tour broadened my view about the Vietnam war.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : When I got out of the international terminal at the Ho Chi Minh International airport, I turned right and walked to the domestic terminal (3 minutes) to take a local bus #152. The fare was 3000 VND for me and another 3000 VND for my big traveler’s suitcase because I put it on a seat next to me. Since I got a free tourist’s map at the immigration, I traced the route and when the bus came near the De Tham St., I found the Liberty 3 Hotel and jumped out. This hotel is facing a big park and many people were playing “Da Cau”, in which the players seem to kick a shuttlecock-like projectile in two opposing players, two pairs or multiple opposing pairs.

Excellet location, clean room and toilets, friendly staffs

a bit noisy from road traffics and adjacent restaurants and pubs

The Liberty 3 is an excellent hotel to stay whether on business or travel. The rooms are most importantly clean and toilets are new too. Room size is average, but suits me good enough. My room even has a little balcony overlooking the busy traffics below. The Liberty 3 is located in a very strategic place with all kinds of food and restaurants. At night there are lots of pubs too. Overall I think the Liberty 3 is value for money for business or leisure. Free WIFI in rooms is an added advantage.
