Hotel with good location near Saigon River

Stayed at the Legend Hotel for 3 nights and must say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Located just beside the Saigon River, one can experience quite a number of interesting sights including a street with mostly food outlets just minutes away by foot when going from the hotel's rear exit. The check-in was relatively quick and the hotel staffs friendly but the best part was the breakfast which is a must-try.
Shopping-wise, one can also easily walk to Parkson from the hotel using the same route (there is another shopping mall opposite Parkson). It is possible to walk to the Ben Thanh market from the hotel although it is quite far.
Also, hotel guests can access the swimming pool and the gym that was located right beside it.
Overall, a nice stay at a well-known HCM hotel.

Did not have as good a stay at the Legend Hotel Saigon this trip. They were unable to get me a room on a non-smoking floor as requested through Agoda. They said that they had converted the 12th floor (normally smoking) to a non smoking floor due to the demand. It appeared that they had tried to make an effort at removing the smell of smoke through steam cleaning of carpets and deodoriser. However, every night there was a terrible smell of oil paint that came through the aircon unit starting at about 2AM.
Overall a good stay, but next time will insist on a room on a non smoking floor. They should also make the restaurant completely non-smoking.

The room had an excellant view of the river, the service was excellant and the staff was very helpfull.Over all enjoyed my stay there and would stay again.
Travel tip:
The hotel was close to shopping and sighting venues well located.

Well, I have been stayed couple of hotels in Ho Chi Minh.
Generally, the hotels over there are ok... but Legend is above the average.
The staffs are friendly and helpful. Complementary wireless internet comes with pretty impressive speed. Room service is good. The best thing for me is that bath tub is bigger than any other hotels in Ho Chi Minh.
Had a comfortable staying at Legend Hotel.

Our stay was very pleasant. Rooms were well appointed, service was excellent, great location in the central areas (District 1) and breakfast buffet was very good. Expensive by Vietnamese standards but cracking value by western standards. Would highly reccomend.

The Legend Hotel Saigon is a good business hotel with a great location right along the river. The breakfast buffet is varied and excellent. Beds are comfortable. New Sony flat screen televisions in the rooms. Heated toilet seats were a bonus. Check-in and check-out were handled quickly and efficiently. Many good restaurants within walking distance. Staff friendly and helpful.
