Very Dissappointing
The look of the hotel from the outside, the location on the river, leaving the hotel
The staff were uncaring. My bathroom on check-in smelt of urine. We booked 9 days but only spent 5 at the hotel. On our return, a pneumatic drill work me up in the morning. The staff were actively unhelpful. The rooms were very, very tired. This hotel is soon to be completely demolished. The staff have given up already. The highlight of my stay was having my bag stolen by one of the motorcycle bag thieves. Wear a backpack if you must carry a bag around Saigon / HCM City.

great hotel
great staff, great location, nice chauffeur car
Excellent hotel with great staff, organised a tour of cu chi tunnels with the hotel chauffeur driven Mercedes and hotel guide, really glad we did as it was a great experience. Loved this hotel, great cocktails in the rooftop bar watching Saigon go by.

Pleasant mostly
location, room size, and cleanliness
Most of the stay was fine till we discovered that the hotel holds events over the week-ends like weddings etc. We paid for an extra night as we were leaving early the next morning as to get some sleep before we left. The music was unbearable almost like they were in our room, after many complains to the staff we just decided to leave as sleep was impossible. One of the staff told us it is like that every weekend. Lovely hotel just don't stay on the week-end.

A lovely Majestic experience
Beautful, elegant, grand old hotel. Part of Saigon's history.
This was a lovely way to experience Ho Chi Minh City. We felt very special each time we walked into the stunning lobby. We stayed for three nights in a Colonial suite ( just over $200 per night). It was huge with a large living area containing a desk, lounge suite and tv. The large bedroom also had a tv and a very comfortable bed. The lovely ensuite was marble tiled with a generous bench, and a corner bath with a shower over. Breakfast upstairs overlooking the river was very comprehensive, service was a bit slow on occasion but not enough to cause a problem - and it was really hot! The hotel is centrally located and is walking distance (15mins) or a quick taxi from the Ben Thanh market. Good restaurants close by Maxims Club (European cuisine) right next doors or just one up from that another Maxims (Nam An ?) which has inexpensive Vietnamese food. This hotel is going to go in the next year to make way for a huge new redevelopment of the site. Experience this very special place before it is gone forever.
