Great location with huge rooms

Our first trip to Vietnam was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The Majestic Hotel is very well positioned. All the major city attractions are close-by, and the streets surrounding the hotel have a good selection of restaurants and shopping. The Majestic Hotel may not be for everyone, it is a very old building and the decor is not contemporary. However the rooms are huge, and the bed was very comfortable so we were happy. The only blight on the Hotel would be the restaurant, it was average. Service was slow and meals expensive, for a quarter of the price you could eat far better outside.

One of Saigon's finest. Shame about the breakfast.

The hotel has an old school kitsch theme, a bit over the top but very pleasant altogether.
The rooms are comfortable and well appointed.
Breakfast, mini bar and certain prices are disappointing.
The hotel pick up is a waste of money, 38$ to het picked up in a mini van? It cost around 7$ with any taxi company.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Amazing massage at the spa on the 1st floor. 25$ for an hour and really one of the best I've ever had.

The hotel is perfectly located near shopping areas. The staff was very accommodating and all had smiles and spoke English, unlike most other areas of Vietnam. The restaurant was good. The manager was very accommodating when we requested a room change. Great service all around.

There were no problems. We felt they can compete with the best.
The suite is roomy and comfortable, well up to international standard. All is clean and tidy and the room was kept spotless.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Ticia and Verona shirtmakers in Dong Du have some nice material and patterns US$ 30-50 according to quality. Seems like better than Jermyn Street mail order.

staff and hotel location are so good.

was on a business trip that didn't have much time in the hotel and missed free breakfast. however the room was very nice and very unique compares to other hotel room. my room was located in the middle where it doesn't have window toward outside. this was not really good as i couldn't figure if it's day or night. beside that, it was clean, cozy and appreciated for the free fruit box that served all the time i stayed there.

i have stayed at the majestic twice in consecitive months and will be returning next month. i travel widely around asia for business and now consider the majestic to be one of my favourite hotels in the region. i have already enthusiastically recommended the hotel to many colleagues and friends.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Early morning breakfast in the open air on the 5th floor overlooking the Saigon River, and an aperitif on the 8th floor watching the same vista in the early evening
