Clean, nice room, Nice pool, good breakfast, quite good location
pool was smaller than expected!
The Metropole was a nice hotel in HCMC, fairly centrally located about a 10 min walk to the War Museum and the market.

The Breakfast was great with new menu everyday. Staff were friendly and it's very near to all the day tour agencies. Overall, great 1st time experience in Vietnam!
The swimming pool wasn't child friendly with the shallowest end being 1.6m deep which is definitely not safe for any child.
Since it was our 1st time in Vietnam, we were quite lost and skeptical about the things that we were going to do there since we're going on "free and easy", but we were pleasantly surprised when we reached the hotel. The bell-boy was very friendly and informative and soon enough, we were on our way to days of fun and adventure! Some things you must try are : Water Puppets, Chu-chi tunnels, War Remnant Museum, Mekong Delta tour, Street foods, fine dining in Korean Restaurant(Near Water puppets). We will definitely visit Vietnam again soon, maybe to Hanoi this time! Thank you, Agoda!
Shopping Tip : Ben Thanh Market has a good variety but if you must buy, try the surrounding streets 1st as the same items are sold at a fraction of the items sold in Ben Thanh.

Entertainments inside the hotel itself are good. The Noblesse Club at the 3rd floor with a swimming pool outside offers affordable drinks with good music, darts, billiards and a KTV room without extra charges. Our group really enjoyed the evenings there. This is a must visit.
The hotel is not new but everything works fine.
The location of this hotel is near the main attractions of HCMC. There is a convenience store around the corner, and a massage salon opposite with attractive girls offering services from shampooing to a decent massage. Very friendly English-speaking hotel staff.
Restaurant Tip : Try the BBQ seafood at the night market outside the Ben Thanh Market which is just 15 minutes away from the hotel by foot. There is a Pho 24 Vietnamese Noodle restaurant opposite it and the management was kind enough to allow us to order BBQ food outside and enjoy inside the restaurant.

Restaurant staff excellent and food was good. Dooormen were extremely helpful with directions and cost of taxis.
Reception staff spoke very little English and not overly friendly. Rooms tired and bathroom pokey and dark.
We stayed at the Metropole for three days. The reception staff were not as happy and helpful as we had found at other hotels in Vietnam. The hotel is tired and could do with an update. In a good location and having a pool is a bonus. Booked over the internet and were expecting more. A little disappointing.
Shopping Tip : Don't miss Ben Tahn markets 15-20 min walk from hotel. Lots of great cheap restaurants in HCMC.

Ten minute walk to Benh Thanh market. Adequate size pool. Comfortable bed.
Only for benches for pool area and one umbrella.
Average breakfast. Dated hotel. You get what you pay for. Truly at 2.5 star hotel
Value for the dollar hotel. Good transit hotel if you don't want to pay too much like Rex, Caravelle etc...Hotel is a bit dated.

Friendly, clean, safe, value for your money, excellent location, excellent breakfast spread.
Cannot think of any thing
Hotel Metropole In Ho Chi Minh city is ideally located. Sound and dust pollution is much less tham other hotels in city centre. It has well furnished spacious rooms. The staff are very friendly, always smiling, friendly and very efficient and also very accomodating. It is an ideal hotel for business and familes.A stay in this hotel is almost like staying in your own home.
Travel tip : Walking distance to places of interest

Good location, ok value for money.
THis hotel was adequate, it served a purpose. The breakfast was ok, I didn't like the bar, it was very expensive for HCMC, the pool was small. the lady at the tour desk was very unhelpful, we wanted to go on a tour to the tunnels and it was like we were asking to go to the moon. We ended up going down the road to the backpacker area and booking a great tour there. She could have picked up the phone and done that for us as well, but she just couldn't be bothered. The portors were very nice though.

Beautiful rooms, cool hotel bar.
staff was a little snobby and not as helpful as I would have liked.
This hotel has nice rooms, with a cool bathroom. However, I would say it's more 3 stars than a 4 star hotel. They're a bit snobby for a hotel that is not even that incredible. Just an average hotel in a decent location. I had a good time at the bar, the hostess and the bartenders are pretty hot and friendly. There's also a pool table, and a pool to enjoy and relax in. Sometimes they have weddings at this hotel, so people are always coming in dressed up in tuxes and wedding gowns. Overall, I would rate my stay as average, nothing special.
Shopping Tip : Go to Ban Than market for lots of cheap finds and good local food.

I love vietnamese food, but not much of that on the menu...
I like this hotel. My second time here. The friendly staff, the lobby/restaurant,fitness + pool + the bar/nightclub. It is also short way to the city center, and thers is always a taxi ready. Good facalities for internet and simular services. You got very much for the money at this hotel!

Very good location, close to major tourist attractions, restaurants and bars but not too noisy
Nice little pool on 2nd floor. Good breakfast.
Don't book trips from the hotel. I got my tour to the tunnels for less than a quarter the price at a tour operator in the back packer's area.
The hotel is in a good location close to most of the places you may want to visit. There are bars and restarants nearby, particularly in the back packer area about five minutes walk away. The rooms over lokking the road weren't noisy. The pool, although small provided a peaceful break from the busy city. Breakfast was good. Staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Front desk people are the best.Breakfast is big and varied. The internet is available free for guests. Receptions for other hotel functions fill the lobby with pretty dresses and ladies.
My first time to HCMC or Saigon was terrific. A good driver took me all around for 4 four days. Do not miss the river and the commerce of this fast progressive city. If for no other reason go for the bread. It is everywhere and is the gift of the French Empire.Find a driver who will take you to a local streetside beer garden. Two people with food for about five USD.
Restaurant Tip : Find street side cafes filled with locals not tourists-best value. Tip well and return to same table next day. Service gets better and people open up.

Very good location in the heart of District one. Staff extremely accommodatimng and friendly. Tour guide desk most helpful.
Probably very few negatives - the only thing I can say is that the rooms were a little bit tired, and could do with a bit of updating.
We very much enjoyed our stay there and would go again - excellent value for money spent.
Restaurant Tip : Best to check where you are going and how you will get there, as the location is very busy at night time (as well as day) and crossing roads is hazardous - we used taxis and tour guides when possible

Easy to find taxis 24 hours a day.
Small rooms - my air-con unit leaked all night.
This hotel is part of the Liberty Hotel group - a cheap and cheerful chain of Hotels in Ho Chi Minh City.
Compared to the bulk standard Liberty hotels, the Metropole is a bit nicer, with fairly well appointed rooms (but small), and adequate facilities (fitness centre, pool, pool-side bar, mediocre restaurant, etc.), but I've paid the same money for better appointed and better located hotels in HCMC.
There's nothing wrong with the Metropole - it's OK, but it's nothing special either. I was just expecting more.
