Ben Than market was much more worthwhile to buy things from than Bin Tayh market. It is really stuffy at Bin Tayh market and it is not easy to get taxi from Bin Tayh market.Take only taxis that has a sign that say Saigon Tourist and those big white taxis. The rest of the taxis have their metres going really fast and the fares between these taxis make a great difference.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Book tours to Mekong River and Cu Chi Tunnels with the hotel's tour desk. Though it may be costly compared to the travel agency, it is worth the money as the tour was conducted exclusively just for me and my colleague.

Overall, I find my stay at Metropole Hotel a very memorable experience and I would certainly recommend anyone to stay at this hotel when they are at Ho Chi Minh City!
- Shopping Tip : The Hotel is within walking distance to Ben Thy market which you should not miss!

Close to the Ben Tanh market, and walking distance to the Pham Ngu Lao shopping area.
- Shopping Tip : Some good bargains at less crowded Andong market, especially for shoes.

Just around the corner (go north to backpacker area) from some great restaurants and bars where you can sit and watch the world go from the upstairs bars

The hotel has an in-house spa with massage service that closes around midnight, very pleasant and convenient.
- Restaurant Tip : There is a small Indian restaurant just a coupe of blocks away called Ali Baba, great great food. Just a hole in the wall place, but the food....

I was going to a famous spa which was introduced in a guide book. The telephone number was not available.
Receptionist kindly found a new number and introduced another spa also. Sometimes local connection is more helpful than guide book.
