Good convenient location.
Room is dark, I can't tell whether it is day or night while inside the room.
My first impression was the dark was pretty dark, and the orange lightings all over the room made it looked like night time although I checked in in the afternoon. I wished there was a little sunlight. However, room was considered spacious for single occupancy. Breakfast was rather good and of course, the location of the hotel was good too. There was a couple of cafes next to the hotel and so food was never a problem. There was a supermarket opposite the hotel. Access within the hotel was ok as there were 3 lifts, although they were pretty slow. Overall, the hotel was value for money compared to some hotels in same category.

Location nice, but room not necessarily comfortabe.
Some rooms of this hotel have no windows at all. I felt something like a jail.
According to the Agoda reservation, our original room had no windows at all, and it was dark in the room even during daytime. I had my room changed to the one with window at the cost of USD 30/night, but window was not wide enough. Room quality was not good enough, though the location of the hotel was nice and staff was rather kind.
Travel tip : You should reserve the room with window.

Good location, some staff are friendly
The hotel is old, the room can be very dark, some staff can be unfriendly, some of the taxies who works for this hotel were not good quality
I chose Oscar for the location as well as a bit higher place than the other 3 star hotels in the same area since I was expecting better quality in the price difference. However the quality was lower than the other 3 star hotels in the same block, the building is old, the breakfast was not fantastic etc. I think the hotel is a little bit overpriced.

Friendly helpful staff
Very good breakfasts
Well presented reception area
Pleasant rooms
We enjoyed our stay at the Oscar. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were good, clean and well serviced. We really enjoyed the variety of food available for breakfast and the menu for dinner was also good. The location was excellent. HOwever for us the redeeming feature of the hotel was the friendly helpfulness of the staff. They are obvious well trained.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Nguyen Phuoc Phong Uyen from Saigon Tourist Agency organized a marvellous tour of Vietnam for us, starting in the Mekong Delta and going as far as Sapa and saved us a lot of money compared to if we had organized the trip from Australia.

Located within easy walking distance of restaurants and sites; free access to internet; breakfast was good
Some rooms don't have windows and the shower is quick to run out of hot water.
The hotel is located in the hub of the shopping district. There are many good restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking distance. The hotel staff was professional, but not overly friendly. The rooms were small, but clean. My room did not have a window, which did not bother me, but some of my companions found it disturbing, especially when the window had been replaced by a fish tank.
The only complaint is that the hot water ran out quite quickly -- something that I did not expect from a hotel that charged $90/night.
The breakfast buffet--on the top floor with a great view of the city -- offered both western and asian food.
Overall, it's an okay place to stay, but for the money I think one could find a much better deal.

perfectly situated.
Very nice restaurant.
Good and nice personnel.
No window in the room.
Dusty.
Oscar Saigon is very nice and comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel at ease.
The hotel is perfectly situated for walking around Saigon city. Close to the Ben Than Market as well as the Opera-house and the Cathedral. With Ho Chi Minh at the top of the street the feeling of being in the heart of Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) city is very complete.
The only negative experience from the hotel was that the room had no window, and the air felt dusty.
Shopping Tip : The department store across the street. Many shops in the block.

Looks old but inside is new.
They have fitness but the room is so small.
The Location is very convenient also near main street.
You can walk many major place for sightseeing. Breakfast is very good. Everyday change the menu. Room is very clean. Staff is very kind. But you have to be careful for taxi. Taxi always stop in front of the hotel. You should not use it. they charge me a lot of money. You should catch another company.

Water pressure was not enough to get wet. Staff took their time on check-out and we waited 15 minutes for them to do a room check.
The location of this hotel is in the middle of the shopping area is its biggest asset. The room was comfortable, but lacked personality. The water pressure was so bad taking a shower was impossible (we were on the 9th floor and this could have been part of the problem). Breakfast buffet was enjoyable and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly. Staff took their time on check-out and we waited 15 minutes for them to do a room check.
Shopping Tip : Close to the hotel is a very large area for shopping (cloths, shoes etc.) and bargaining is a must.

Location, close by all the action of HCMC. Rooms were clean and nicely furnished. Staff were excellent.
No window in room, so was quite difficult to tell night from day. The lift was very slow.
On leaving the hotel for the airport, the door man showed us to a taxi waiting outside that he recommended, who ripped us off by refusing to turn on his meter.
My friend and I recently stayed for 2 nights at this hotel, and found it to to be a most pleasant experience. The hotel is located right in the centre of District 1, the main part of the city. We were able to easily walk to most of the attractions. We booked a half day city tour through the hotel and once again were very pleased with everything. Also on our last day, we were able to store our luggage in a secure room after we checked out. This was greatly appreciated, as it meant we had another day to enjoy the sights without having to take our luggage.

Everything is walking distance from the hotel, including the Reunification Palace, Diamond Plaza, Notre Dame, and other shopping centres.
Shopping Tip : Try the Thuy Nga Fashion House located in the Opera House block (in between Park Hyatt and Caravelle Hotel). Thier men's shirts and trousers fit very well!

The front desk asked for a 'voucher' upon check-in, but the only thing sent by Agoda was an email confirmation. Good thing I had it printed out but they frowned and asked if that was all I had. Fortunately they didn't insist on more but kept the email print out. Better to have something to prove confirmation.
