I stayed in renovated room, the staffs are very good and good seafood buffet. The room is smaller than I had expected. I stayed in renovated room for 3 nights. The room is very clean but the air conditioner is a litter bid old and has noise when I turn it on. The room is a little bid smaller than I had expected. The staffs are very good and polite, they offered 50% discount for seafood buffet for dinner for the person who stay in the hotel. I think food is good and have variety of choices.

We were initially booked on the old wing (4 stories) and we given a small, windowless room on the 4th flr. Requested to change to a room with windows and the room available was located on the 3rd floor but the stench from old wooden floor was intense.
Finally got an upgrade at USD50/night extra into a suite on the 11th flr in the New Wing (14 stories). Room was spacious and comfy.
Strongly recommend the New Wing and avoid the Old Wing. Having said that, Old Wing is undergoing renovation (room by room) during our stay.

In the heart of District One, The Rex has everything the traveller needs, from money exchange, arranging tours and postal service. The staff speak English very well and communicate efficiently. I noticed the prices have increased since my last visit, I only hope they do not overprice themselves. This is the second time in two years that I have chosen to book with The Rex. Steeped in history, staying at the Rex for me, is an exotic, romantic fantasy. The service exemplary, no request to small or big and always delivered with a smile. The staff are warm, friendly and eager to serve.
District One is where the action is and The Rex is right in the middle of it. As soon as you walk out of the magnificent foyer doors, you are in the heart of Saigon, and only 3 blocks from the Binh Thanh market. The Garden Bar on the top floor is where I like to chill by day or night. At night you can listen to great entertainment provided by the Flamingo Band, I swear they have 9 fingers on each hand as they strum their stinged instruments, my foot taps as I sip on delicious cocktails and watch life pass by. There are many restaurants to choose from and all the meals are delicious, fresh and presented beautifully. Breakfast is included, the likes of which I have never seen before,tea and brewed coffee flow freely. Television in the spacious rooms provides entertainment with a myriad of channels to choose from. Yes, whenever I visit Vietnam, I would be a guest at The Rex, my home away from home. 50 words
