Palace hotel, interior is much better than exterio
Great location, just 1 block away from Dong Khoi street, room is clean and decent.

Palace hotel is great in locaton, just one block away from Dong Khoi street, where you can find lots of grocery shops, boutiques, Massage/spa, and restaurants. We visited one or two souvenior shop and bought cute linen scarfs, ivory chopsticks, etc.
One dissapointing factor is Palace hotel does not look so fascinating from outside, I was quite dissapointed to see the hotel at the first sight. It does not look like a 4 star hotel, but once we checked in, we found room condition and facility is satisfactory. If you prefer pretty looking holiday accomodation, REX hotel (just across the corner) is looking much more luxurious and fancy from outside.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We also visited massage/spa Armani, and all four of us enjoyed their services. Escpecially manucure/pedicure are so cheap there, you should try! (It is about 1/5 of price in Singapore.)
Palace hotel has a concierge desk, but we did not use it and visited Sinh Tourist, which is about 20 mins walk from the hotel, and found their tours are much cheaper than the one booked at hotel. We went for 1 day Mekon tour, which costed us only about US10/person including lunch! Later we found that Saigon tourist is also popular and much closer to Palace hotel, so probably you can try that one.

Great location to all the bar's and restaurants. Rooms are good, spacious and clean.

The palace is great value for the price, and the location.
A place to stay if just to sleep, and eat b/fast.

my room is next to the buffet restaurant on 5/F. a bit noisy in the morning when people go to breakfast. the door is just next to my room...

The staff was excellent. They remembered who you are and the floor you are staying on. They would get the elevator for you and have your floor selected. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Palace Hotel

Booked this hotel at a very good discount rate which was why it was good value for money. Having stayed at backpackets for the begining of our holiday, this was very luxurious. The buffet breakfast was quite nice, the room was clean and comfortable and the location was great. Quite close to the markets and the Rex Hotel which was a good nightspot. Attended the spa for a facial and massage which was just ok. There were costant interruptions and the room was too cold. As she couldnt speak English I could not communicate this to her very well.
Nightlife Tip:
Rex Hotel over the road has great live music.

ok room and good breakfast buffet for the price- good value for money

We stayed only overnight at this place but wasn't bad at all. It is centrally located and therefore close to pretty much anywhere you want to go in District 1. There are nice little shops in the neighboring streets and quaint little restaurants too that serve good food. I would definitely book there again for another short stay.

Good location. Expected more from a 4 Star hotel, maybe in Vietnam that's the standard. Stayed 5 days, had 4 breakfast. Same menu everyday, it would be good to change the menu.

We got this room at a great price so it was value for money. Had I paid full price I expect I would have been disappointed. The breakfast was buffet style but just ok. The staff were unfriendly, the computer downstairs was slow and often didnt work at all. Thankfully wifi was available in every room. The pool area upstairs is quite small and best not go there if you suffer vertigo. The view from the top floor (next to the pool) is great.

My 2nd Stay
Good location. Friendly and english speaking staff

This was my second visit to the hotel and I do not think I
would try again. Though the location is very good but the
parquet flooring gives you the creep. Staff is friendly and rather easy to communicate.
