Iconic city centre hotel

We stayed in the governors suite in the new wing of the hotel. It has an old fashioned feel which we assumed was to match the original hotel. The suite was extensive with two bathrooms and a huge walk in shower.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We did the motorbike tour which you can find on trip advisor. It was an excellent way to get into the middle of the mad traffic with university students who take you to all the places tourists don't know to go. It was 2.5 hours and we got some great local food and drinks. The owner met us at each of the stops on the tour. He is from the US but his mother is Vietnamese-extremely informative about Ho Chi Minh City. Couldn't recommend this tour highly enough- a must if you want to get a glimpse of the real city.

The Hotel did not have the same 'feel' as others in HCM City. The staff were busy and not as engaging as you tend to expect in Vietnam. The breakfast was standard - nothing to write home about. They seem to have lost something special with the refurb. We had a lovely big room overlooking the Tax Building - but couldn't get wi fi at all in the room. We both had to sit in the hallway outside the room to get access to the net. That is a very big minus for travelling professionals as well as family travellers - we fitted in to both categories this time in Vietnam. I was disappointed with this hotel. Horses for courses they say.

Great Hotel with excellent facilities

the rex was a fantastic hotel with excellent facilities. we spent most of the time in the fantastic swimming pool. it is also extremely close to all the sights and has excellent restaurants within easy reach. the staff were very friendly and helpful taking time to contact our airline despite some difficulties.

Fantastic hotel with great location

stayed for 4 days. the airport pickup and check-in service was pretty well done so efficient that it didn't take me long to get to my room. had a suite room on the 2nd floor at the new wing. everything is new and clean. the bed and the pillow is very good that i had so far as compared to my previous stay in other 5 star hotel. the room is big and spacious and the arm chair is so comfortable too. the housekeeping and laundry services that i used was so the best i ever had; very professional and well efficient !
the pool is very clean but a bit small for lap swim though. the gym is great and the spa is fabulous and must try it cos it's so relaxing after having the session.......
the breakfast is very gd have many varieties to blend, coffee tea will be topped up by service staff the moment your cup is emptied ! and the juices is free flow too.
the hotel lobby is very nice and clean, ground floor have many shops now having discount for you to shop for x'mas.....
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Ben Thanh market is just behind the hotel. The post office and museum is also just next to the hotel, in the nite the Ben Thanh market area has nite bazaar too. The hotel has casino, I tried my luck and won some $$$$

Housekeeping and restaurant waiters/ waitress very efficient and helpful. Just a small suggestion to have mirrors in the sleeping room. The only mirror found is in the bathroom.

Lovely hotel in an ideal location
The roof top terrace bar is a beautiful place to unwind after a great day of sightseeing. Another good thig about this hotel is the rooms are very well sound proofed so you can escape the noise of a busy city.

The hotel is ideally situated near a number of main tourist spots in District one. the staff are very well presented and professional at all time. The breakfast buffet is good and the quality of the room we stayed in was very good. We had a wonderful weekend and are already in the process of booking to go back.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The Cu Chi Tunnels and War remants museum are a must do in HCM, I would recommend booking in advance, the Rex will cater for parties of all sizes and the guides are very knowledgeable.

Great Historic Hotel in Prime Location

the rooms facing the main street can be a bit noisy but if you don't mind the hustle and bustle of the city there's nothing greater than to stand out over the balcony and watch the city rush by.
eating freshly prepared local vietnamese and western breakfasts while sipping some of finest coffees in the world on the rooftop in the morning was definitely a highlight.
area across from hotel is currently under construction, this also can be noisy during the day.
staff went out of their way to be friendly.

the hotel very conveniently located right at the city & tourist belt.also a mini green park is just right in front and the city hall building as well.most of the city atractions very near by.a lots of shopping malls nearby like parkson and for great bargain the local ben thant market is just 10 minutes walk.
