Staff, location, price and character Some very slight room maintenance issues As with my previous short stay at the Rex, the highlight was the happy, helpful and courteous staff. Every one had a smile and said hello. It really makes a big difference. This included the counter staff, doormen, concierge, housekeepers and restaurant staff. Range of breakfast options was outstanding. The location is, of course great for a short stay in HCMC

friendly service, excellent private tour programs. great food, roof top pool, gym and spa centre are well equipped and reasonably priced. located right in the heart of the city we stayed on the 4 floor right below the dining hall and we could hear very clearly every foot step and ever chair and table that was moved, very frustrating. Excellent location, easy to access most landmarks within saigon in 5 mins by foot. excellent private tour services available that are reasonably priced, with full flexibility. the food and the service is excellent as is the size of the rooms. really good hotel recommend to anyone.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Mekong tour and Vung Tau tours are excellent for 70-80US each all inclusive private tour.

Steeped in history and atmosphere,friendly efficient staff and a feeling of actually being in Vietnam rather than an impersonal, international hotel. Ideally located for the major shopping spots in Saigon, the Rex is great value for money. Friendly staff with a good command of English. Recently extended, the new reception area is beautiful and the floral displays amazing. The fifth floor roof bar while not the cheapest place in town, has a great, relaxed atmosphere. The entertainment sometimes lacks a little in professionalism but makes up in enthusiasm !! Also the music is not overwhelmingly loud so conversation is possible.
Shopping Tip : All major centres close.

Big nice lobby and good location. The room is also big and clean with a nice settie in different segment with complimentary hot drinks for you and your guests. My room came without a window which is sad Good location as you can reach the attractions within walking distance. Definitely recommend to travelers who wanted convinient. Good spacious rooms, clean and high quality. The only setback is that my room is within the building iteself and has no window BUT the quality of the room easily offset the setback. Go for it....

Position and roof top bar / restaurant can't think of any - price of beer The rex is a great place to be in Saigon. You are right in the centre and from the roof top bar look down on the busyness, and can choose to join in or just drink beer and stay aloof. Food was fine. We stayed in the old Rex which was still fine - not modern but no complaints. The position scores most of its points for me, whatever other inconveniences (can't think of any) that is what would make me shoose it again
Restaurant Tip : Walk out the modern front doors turn left them first right omto Pasteur street - down 100m on right is the best restaurant in Saigon

Convenient location in District 1, the services provided were all very good. Tour guide named Tang ($35 pp for half-day including driver) was excellent, very informative, good English, friendly & even humorous - great value for money, Massages were top notch - hot stones was very soothing. Roof top garden & bar a great spot for afternoon/evening drinks. Staff & food in Rex Royal Court ground floor restaurant was especially good, very friendly & accommodating - 6 course banquet was very tasty. All staff were in fact very friendly & helpful. Whilst internet cafe was available free 24hrs, PC's were slow with not the most up to date software, but we did have wireless on our floor, so could use our iPhones there. We were very happy with our choice of the Rex Hotel for 4 nights, because it was centrally located to things we wanted to see & do, it was a good mix of original colonial but with very modern finishes from its renovations & extensions; it has good bars & restaurants, and best of all the staff really did their country proud & made us always feel welcome.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Within easy walking distance of:
- good quality shops
- good restaurants
- coffee shops/cafes
- major sites (Opera House, Reunification Palace, local markets (Be Tranh)
- colonial buildings plus traditional Vietnamese
- very good cross-section & perspective on Saigon life

Location, newly renovated rooms,location Old wing still not renovated. I've stayed at other hotel in Saigon before, but the Rex Hotel is the best hotel I've stayed at in Saigon. It's close to all the relevant areas, and surrounded by all of the nicest shops. i liked how attentive and helpful the staff were. I would highly recommend the Rex Hotel to business travelers and vacationers alike. It's worth the premium price!

location, service,fitness center After staying at Kimdo next door, I really appreciate being back at Rex. The fitness center is one of the best anywhere. The breakfast is good, the staff is helpful and the location can't be beat. The rooms are a little dated but they are large enough and clean.All in all it feels good to be back here. I would definitely stayhere the next time in HCMC.

hawkers outside door, some rooms are dated Generally they put you in the older Wing with Agoda booking. The rooms are slightly larger but not as new. The REX has a rooftop bar, Spa, fitness center, shopping arcade and at least 6 restaurants and a Casino. Its a classic complete hotel. The staff are very nice. No outside guests at night!
Nightlife Tip : Jazz Club with live m usic right around the corner

Spacious Rooms Rooms could require an update This hotel was lovely. It was a building of traditional style with alot of history within its walls. A great location provided easy access to HCMC sights & shopping. Very helpful and friendly staff and a wonderful environment. The rooms were very spacious although ours could have benefitted from a little renovation. The sky bar had good food, great cocktails and live music - perfect combination! A hotel we would definately book again if we visit Saigon again.

Enjoyed the Rex for two nights and would recommend it as a really nice hotel. Excellent staff and service, restaurants great especially breakfast. Would come back definitely.
Travel tip : Ben Than Markets not too far and fabulous.

Location, friendly, efficient staff Older rooms, shower temperature and pressure variable I enjoyed a brief stay at the Rex Hotel Saigon. This was my second stay at the Rex. As with the first time I was most impressed with the the friendly efficient staff, both on the front Desk and housekeeping. I saw the front desk folk dealing with a few difficult guests and they did it very well indeed. Oh, also wireless internet is very quick and reliable.

Location of the hotel is good. hotel rooms are rather old Location of the hotel is very convenient. However, overall the rooms are rather old. The lift that goes up to the rooms are also very slow. We were given a room by the pool and it was rather noisy at times. Overall it was alright. Staff was very polite an helpful.

good service & good position the hotel is too old. Swimming pool is not clean enough. Hotel is too old. Our living area is not like a five star hotel. Maybe the reason is the cheap price we paid... no sure!
The swimming pool is not clean. We can't help to get out of the pool just in a few minutes.
Their service is good and its position is excellent!
Breakfast buffet is OK and has many different kinds of food for us to choose.
