As I had to attend a conference which was held in the Renaissance Riverside hotel Saigon, I found staying in the Riverside hotel Saigon very convenient as it is located almost next door to the former hotel. It is really value for money for one to stay in a three-star hotel which is sharing the vicinity of many five-star hotels located on the same street opposite the Saigon river. I found the breakfast (included in the room charges) particularly impressive as there were changes, albeit small, made to the food offered each day for berakfast. Although the style and decor of the hotel is a bit old, I do not think that they are not important as the tourists would have been out and about all day long. Highly recommended!

Good for a one night stay

We have stayed here twice now,a good cheap transit hotel in an ideal location for heading out on boat tours or catching the Hydrofoil,it's across the street from the terminal.Front rooms are noisy though,and room service food is of poor quality.Good beds and clean rooms.Breakfast buffet excellent.

English is not the staff's strong point,learn a few basic vietnamese phrases before staying here,like:Have you guys lost my laundry again? or Can we have some more toilet paper please?

Good convenient transit Hotel

Location is excellent,in district 1 between the Majestic and Rennaissance,across from ferry and Hydrofoil terminals.Very clean.Beds are excellent.Front 'senior deluxe' rooms are large with good view over the river,however very noisy as they also look over 6 lanes of incessant 24hr traffic.Rear rooms are small and look over an abondoned wing of the Hotel.Reception staff have a good grasp of the English language,but all others have almost none.Laundry is a 48hr affair,and quite expensive as it is outsourced.Showers are set up across the bath,very strange and arkward.Restuarant breakfast is excellent quality,but for some reason all other room service or restuarant food is bland and average.Overall an acceptabel transit short stay hotel in an excellent location.Bring your sense of humour,and try ordering up a bottle of champagne,you'll end up with some Russian sparkling red that's quite nice and a real novelty.

Tell your cab driver it's next to the Majestic,otherwise they will never find it,even with an exact address!

Nice hotel near ferry terminal on Saigon River
Old charm, be sure to walk the staircase. Nice restaurant.

I had a nice steak dinner for under. AM buffet was also nice with eggs cooked to order & the best fresh pineapple juice. Easy connection to Vung Tao ferry terminal. The staff was very helpful.
Travel tip:
Many taxis in area for easy cummute to shopping & sigtseeing attractions.

Location near 'top end of town' and the river for serene views and access to ferry to Vung Tau

Having stayed at Riverside many times it was a welcome return though this time the riverview room was less than soundproof. The breakfast remains a satisfactory low key experience with good fresh food and sufficient choice. Rooms are large for a mid-range hotels in this part of town and the location remains the hotel's strongest selling point. We used the hydrofoil ferry to Ving Tau this time which was very convenient - highly recommended and only a short walk across the road.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Can't emphasise the enough the efficiency of the ferry to Vung Tau (90 minutes) over the road journey (3 plus hours of bad road and traffic)
