Good value & great loction

a prime riverside location, with excellent value for money, and rooms which were clean and spacious. the staff were friendly and helpful, and we were able to leave our larger bags for several days while we went off exploring national parks and the mekong delta. i would definitely stay in this hotel again when i return to saigon.
Restaurant Tip:
maxim's restaurant is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. also, the majestic hotel nearby has a great rooftop bar overlooking the river.

The only place I call home in District 1!

This is the second time I have stayed at the riverside and it was every bit as good as the first time.
The breakfast was great, used the restaurant several times as it was extremely convenient & food was excellent.
The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful especially the doormen. My room was towards the back of the hotel and was so quiet, Din't hear any noises from the busy room.
It is very central, only a block or two away from the main tourist areas.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Excellent sitting areas on each floor. Go up the elegant staircase at least once.

nice scene on the riverside and very near the tourist places to visit at ho chi minh city. very fast service and great buffet breakfast, i love the yogurt served with fruits at breakfast, the sausages, and other international cuisine. i would love to go back here when i visit again.

Not bad for the price
good location for walk to the river but a bit out of town

For the price a night I can't complain. Rooms were ok, dated and a bit creepy and our window opened under a stairwell.
Breakfast was shocking and staff cranky.
We were out most of the time and for a place to sleep for t wias worth the money but I wouldn't pay any more, and forget the breakfast.
Nightlife Tip:
$2 cabride into town. Check out Apocolypse Now for an eye opener!

Old World Style Hotel

Riverside Hotel is in a great location opposite river, there is always alot happening out front with the boats and people.
You can catch a day cruise or just have a coffee. Very pleasant hotel, stafff friendly and really welcoming. Rooms clean and good value for money. If you walk out front to right you can find a Cyclo ride to take you all around the city and see the sights for dong. Loved Riverside Hotel and will be back.

Lively Location on the River front
Was constructed in1864, Big Room with double windows fronting the Riverside.

staff were very helpful, rooms were clean, breakfast (western / asian mix), was great.
nearby to the new bitexco financial tower and "sky deck".
we walked everywhere, using the adjacent dong khoi street as the main reference.
there are two riverside hotels within 50m of each other.....we stayed in the older one facing the riverside, not the newer, more fancy one on a corner.....even the taxi drivers get confused.
Travel tip:
1. Bonsai Evening River Cruise maybe 15 mins. walk from this Hotel
2. Try the one Day trip to Cao Dei Temple and Co Chi Tunnels (there is a Tour Operator attached to this Hotel)
3. Try the 24 Hr Pho Noodles in Dong Khoi and Side Streets.
4. For money changing, we found Western Union on 86 Mac Thi Budi Street, of Dong Khoi Roadin District 1....... had the Best rates (Sep.2012)
5. Try the Restaurants at No. 138 Nam Ky Khoi Nghai St., and 160 Pasteur Street.

Huge room with great river view

first time in vietnam so booking w pot luck and i struck gold, this was a great place to stay, close to shopping and city attractions but quiet and easy to catch a taxi. the breast was normal buffet style but plenty of choice and eggs cooked to order.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Beware of cheats and lightfingeredtaxi drivers. I lost my wallet and my companion had his cash stolen from his wallet. Both cases were taxi drivers trying to be helpful, they are so quick you see or feel it happen.

we were happy to stay in riverside hotel. the location was very good to explore the city by foot and by motorbike. the service was good and generous. we were allocated a nice room, not sure whether it was an upgrade or simply a very nice suite-like room with a small living room.
the only negative part was the breakfast that was not very nice.
