oldie but a goodie

we booked for one night stay at this hotel during our visit to saigon as we learnt that it is located by the mekong river; with the hope that we will be given a room with river view. Turns out the room that was given to us does not have any. But it was all good as the room is quite spacious with large bed. The building is a little dated & thus explains why the room feels a little humid. Strategic location as nearby shopping places are just a few streets away.

I stayed in this hotel a few years ago and was kind of hoping that it would have improved a bit since then but alas no, its still looking old and tired and the staff still seem very nonchalant. every other place we stayed in Vietnam the staff went out of their way to be nice. noone seems to smile here.
If they rennovated this place it would have great potential, lots of old wood, great facade, large rooms. they need to take pout all that 80's neo classical decoration like the greek pillars and statues - where is that coming from ??!!
BTW, don't bother with the spa

This is the best place I have stayed in while I have been in Vietnam. Great big beautiful rooms, close to the ferry to Vung Tau and very neat tidy and clean. The staff are amazing and nothing is to much bother for them to make your stay warm and friendly. I cannot wait to stay here again. Loved it.

Really rustic feel, the moment I walked into the hotel. The reception was really helpful and knowledgeable with regards to the tourist attractions that I should visit.
The room is really spacious... Old but well up kept:)
Breakfast was a blast of both local and western flavour... Not disappointing at all...
Highly recommended for non-picky travellers :)
