Sanouva Hotel is great!
Centrally located. Hotel rooms are clean and modern.

Though this is a 3-star hotel, it is very comfortable and clean. It is centrally located. Most of the major attractions can be covered on foot so you can save on taxi fares. The staff is friendly and obliging, gave us late check-out even though it was a busy day for them. Overall, it was a pleasant stay at Sanouva. Beware of the crazy traffic though.

Nice but pricey for HCMC
Very clean, nice bathrooms, friendly service, they make an effort to decorate the hotel for holidays, good breakfast with variety, free wifi in rooms and in lobby

Overall, I was really pleased with Sanouva. The service was very friendly and helpful and just a touch above many other places I have stayed in Vietnam. The prices are very reasonable by western standards and has some of the cleanest bathrooms and rooms that I have seen (mind you, I usually pay a bit less for a room in Vietnam). Otherwise, I have found that nearby there are many hotels that charge $15-20 less per room per night with a marginal difference in the rooms, perhaps slightly less nice. Since my husband and I were staying in HCMC for a number of nights, we felt it was worth it to to a hotel in the $30 price range, but some may feel the clean bathrooms and good service is worth the extra money.
Restaurant Tip:
Quan An Ngoc, amazing restaurant is a short walk away on Pasteur. You have probably heard about it, but the location has moved recently, and it is definitely worth checking out....lots of variety so we went twice.

Excellent Choice
Some of the frontliners can speak and understand English and are hospitable.
The room is very clean and cozy.
The hotel is situated strategically, very close to almost all the tourist spots within walking distance.
Their breakfast buffet has a variety of choices.

We enjoyed our stay in Sanouva hotel for it has really meet my expectations except for they don't have a swimming pool which is quite understandable for it is just a small hotel. The value of per night stay is quite reasonable. The hotel is strategically situated just within walking distance to almost all the tourist spots in HCMC. The hotel room is very clean especially the bathroom which is very important for me. The hotel staffs are very friendly and hospitable. My kid and I enjoyed our trip to HCMC and I'm very much satisfied with Sanouva Hotel. I will definitely recommend guest to choose this hotel.
Travel tip:
If you are to hire a cab or a taxi from the airport you just have to pay around 100,000 dong going to Sanouva hotel. I was fooled by a cab driver and was asked to pay 300,000 dong. Ride only those who are legitimate fleets.

newly built thus still clean.
the hotel equipped with wifi in its every floor.
and there are two computer available to browse the net on the lobby.
the receptionist are also friendly.
HDMI TV on your room.
located next to ben than market.

the receptionist was quite helpful in guiding us booking a bus to muine.
Shopping Tip:
ben than market is a good place to shop as long as you can bargain.
next to ben than market there are many seafood restaurant that open at night.
they sell cheap food in big portion.

First trip to Ho Chi Minh City
Rooms were and clean modern, had everything what we wanted. ie fridge, plasma tv, hair dryer, wi-fi, safe and area to put your suitcase.

The hotel was centrally located to all the markets and shopping centres in district 1. The hotel was clean and modern and offered free wi-fi in the rooms and use of internet in the lobby. The restaurant was a bit small but the buffet breakfeast menu change on a daily basis. Hotel staff was exceptional friendly and courteous and spoke good english. They were always helpful with our needs. ie tours, directions and where to eat.Would definitley stay again for our next trip.

Even nice hotel runs scams...

I booked Sanouvo hotel for 4 days and with the safe in there, thought I was safe. But, when I checked out, there was an additional bill of 85$, for having spilled one third of a small cup of coffee with milk, in the bed... They couldn't show me the actual sheet and blanket, as these were still with the cleaners, so I had to take their word that these couldn't be cleaned properly, even though that must've been a blatant lie...
I've had to pay for the same at far more luxurious and expensive hotels and they still didn't charge me even a fifth of these guys.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Rent a motorbike - you'll safe a lot of money and getting scammed by each and every xe om on the street.
Alternatively, if you're using cabs, stick with Vinasun, one of the few honest companies in town...

We stayed for 4 nights in early December the Sanouva deluxe room and were quite satisfied. The hotel and room was clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and performed well above the 3 star rating. Great location near the Ben Thanh Markets and other sites. Would recommend this one and would stay again.

The hotel can do better to help the guests who are not familiar with the city. It will be better if they can offer airport pick up service with a reasonable price. Would recommend this hotel to other people to stay there. For other local services (e.g. local tour or taxi), would suggest people to do some research by themselves.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you take taxi there, make sure you ask the driver to turn on the meter or else they will charge you more than you should pay.

Not bad! New & Clean
The room is clean and the bed is big. Very good location in the HCMC. Close to the Ben Thanh Market.

Don't ask for extra services, such as airport pick-up or local tours. The airport pick-up service is not cheap (USD20)and they service is not good. The car is bad and we can't communicate with the driver. (FYI, it only costs USD5-6 from airport to the hotel.)
For the local tours to Cu Chi & Mekong Delta, they give us the quotations are expensive. It's better to check out the tours by yourself.
Those are additional services but we think the hotel can do better to help the tourists who are not familiar to the city.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you are taking taxi there, make sure you request the drivers to turn on the meters. If they refuse, just get off the car. Most drivers are not very honest and they charge you more than you should pay for the fare.
