Excellent Service and Location
Location is in the middle of everything, very helpful staff.

The room they provided us was not big, we had a good view of Ho Chi Minh. I was very happy with the staff, they provided us with maps of the district and gave us directions. The location of the hotel was also perfect, it was a 10min walk to everywhere we wanted to go and see.

good location, 5 minutes from the river and ho chi minh statue. staff helpful. clean, a little bit obsolete. as many people go to susnset cruise i would suggest breakfast should start at 5am instead of 6am. as soon as we checked in we were approached by a tout (apparently not from the hotel staff but tolerated by the receptionist) offering us an overpriced sunset cruise for the following morning. we accepted without negotiation because it was late and we were tired, but i would suggest shopping around in order to have an idea of prices. even at night there are many boat drivers at the harbour offering rental.

Spring hotel is recommendable and we would go there certainly again if we make another visit to the nice city of Saigon! very good location, which means that everywhere we wanted to go was in walking distance, e.g. old market, shopping streets, night clubs, food stores and so on. The staff was nice, the breakfast (included) was good, the internet was for free, so we were totally satisfied.

we had stayed at the spring in 1998, while completing the adoption of our son in saigon. at the time the location was terrific and we were treated wonderfully. our stay in december was just as wonderful. several members of the staff still work at the hotel and we were treated as well as previously. the rooms are very nicely appointed, the staff very helpful, and the free breakfasts provided in the beautiful ground-floor accomodations are top-notch!
the hotel is within steps of a new multi-story, western-style shopping mall complete with two levels of food choices. it is also just a couple of blocks to downtown and all of the sights.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Be sure to head to the central square, just a couple blocks away. Beware the thousands of mopeds, motorbikes, and vespas careening through the streets. To them it is a carefully choreographed ballet...but to most visitors it seems chaotic and chancey...

Great Service and Excellent Location
The location is only within 2 minutes walk to Vincom Center and Parkson shopping mall. About 5-10 minutes walk to Dong Khoi. Great breakfast. Free internet and WIFI. Very friendly and helpful staff. Better exchange rate than outside.

This is the best hotel out of 3 places we visited in Vietnam, yet the cheapest among them. Though the other 2 hotels are of higher star rating, they do not provide as good a service and friendliness as The Spring. Location-wise it is only within 2-5 minutes walk to major shopping malls, and about 5-10 minutes walk to the buzzing shopping streets (e.g., Dong Khoi). There are also many restaurants, cafes and bars around the hotel. It takes about 15 minutes leisurely walk to Benh Thanh market. The hotel provides a better currency exchange rate than what you can get outside (2,100,000 VND/USD at the time, compared to 1,950,000 outside). The staff speaks good English, and the breakfast is wholesome. Definitely will recommend to my friends!

we found everything ok, air con did not work, so we were given an upgrade-room, new and no carpet but stone ground.from the hotel to the major points of the city you walk not more than 10 minutes - dont forget the roof-garden-restaurant of the rex-hotel, you sit and watch the traffic-wonderful!

Restaurant Tip:
Fanastic restaurant to experience wonderful vietmanese cuisine in lovely surroundings with great service at local prices a must visit is Quan An Ngon in Pasteur Ave in Ho Chi Min City.
