Vien Dong Hotel
The security staffs were very alert and helpful. Without them, it would be impossible for my family & children to cross the busy streets. And they even helped us get a taxi and make sure that the drivers know our destination. The security staffs certainly deserved a pat on the shoulders and tipping.
7.7
Location is not as strategic but definitely comfortable for family w children.
Spacious rooms except that the walls are not sound proof. Noisy when your neighbors come back late and make a din.
Lifts are extremely slow.
Breakfast less than satisfactory compared to the last hotel i stay further up the street. Needs improvement.
Overall, good value for money.
Restaurant Tip:
Visited the famous, Quan An Guon. Bad experience cos preference given to Westerners. Staffs think we'r local and missed out our orders. Waited for 20mins and repeated asking before drinks were served. Food came but no rice. Will not go back anymore. Not worth the effort and money.
Try Wrap & Roll. It's good value for money. Nice selection with pictures. Easy to order and staff helpful. Serving time was fast, less than 10mins.

Vien Dong Hotel
Location is good, a lot of shops and nightlife is good. Moreover, travel agencies are everywhere and this make us easy to plan the trip. Staffs are friendly and helpful, their smiley face cheers our stay.
9.3
Overall, we do have a great days at Vien Dong. Easy access to hotspot around HCMC. Staffs were helpful when asking for information and they did recommend some nice places for us too. Our room was well kept each day. Besides, room is spacious and we were comfortable during our stay

The room is very clean and cosy but the welcome fruit in the room is not fresh. There are a number of restaurants and shops in the surrounding area. Near to the famous Ben Thanh Market and supermarket by taxi.

Good but if you can afford it go somewhere else
7
I must be becoming more like my mother who is very thrifty. I am always looking for a bargain. I travel once a year to Asia and I always seem to end up in hotels like this. They have seen better days and offer value for money but I always think why did I stay there?
That is not to damn the Viendong: they do everything competently and with a smile. I enjoyed staying there but I have promised myself I am going to spend a little more and have a bit of luxury. In short, if you can afford go downtown.
Nightlife Tip:
Don't go for the boom boom, blow job, it can only get you trouble.

Vien Dong Hotel, Saigon
The hotel offers an excellent buffet breakfast and is comparatively close to most attractions. Rooms are pleasant.

Hotel staff are helpful and friendly. The day commences well with an excellent buffet breakfast catering for a wide range of tastes. Rooms are ample size for the price paid and clean. Noise is the only negative point ans especially bad for rooms facing the street as loud music starts about 5 am from the adjacent park. The hotel is close to all shops offering the standard tourist services. We found that you could walk to main sights and shops.
Shopping Tip:
Unlike other Asian cities, Saigon does not have significant department stores. I found the range of clothing to be limited and somewhat expensive. Shops also offered a poor range of products and prices sufficiently high to make purchases unattractive

Vien Dong Hotel
Good all rounder, reasonably priced
8.7
All round this hotel delivers. Location is ok, although some may prefer to stay closer to the river. Taxis are cheap anyway. Staff are very friendly and the doormen always very helpful to assist you across the busy road. The only thing I can fault is the noisy beeping from the road (which is everywhere in Saigon) can be heard from the room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Loads of places nearby to book trips

Comfort at a Price
Very comfortable room
Good Room Service Menu
5.7
I stayed at this hotel while recovering from some serious food-borne bugs and was glad to have a comfortable western style room. Because I was sick I didn't check out the spa, pool, disco or any of the restaurants so this review is definitely not balanced. That said, the Don Chan management certainly charge very high prices. $2.00 for a bottled water, $15.00 for daily 24hr internet access, etc., etc. You get the idea.
Nightlife Tip:
I think the disco here must be pretty happening as I could hear it thumping into the early hours and that's rare
