i stayed at the hoi an pacific for 4 days and it was a welcome relief after the noise and chaos of hanoi. my room was very comfortable, great air-con, tv, bathroom, fridge, safe. all the staff spoke / understood english and were very helpful and friendly which was wonderful as i didnt' find this to be the case in hanoi.
the hotel is clean and well maintained. there is internet and wifi, good food, with some cafe/restaurants across the street. thehotel has a free shuttle bus to hoi an and the beach which was great as both are too far to walk in the heat.
i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. good value for money, professional helpful staff, good facilities including spa.
Shopping Tip:
There is a lot of competition amongst the Tailors in Hoi An. Don't get rushed into ordering from any of them. Also, I found that everything I had made was too tight and even though they seemed to have allowed for this and everything I had made was eventaully anokay fit, I found it stressful especially since they had measured me. I had clothes made at Hugo's where I paid $225 for 6 items: a winter lined coat, 3 pairs of trousers, a work shirt, and an evening top. The staff were helpful and good but I felt there was quite a bit of pressure to order/buy.

Great hotel with lovely staff

from the moment we stepped into the hotel we were welcomed kindly. the staff at reception explained everything about the hotel and gave us a little information about the surrounding area. we were then taken to our spacious and clean rooms. breakfast is superb; fresh pancakes and various hams, cheese, fresh fruit and pastries are all on offer. we had lunch a la carte in the restaurant too, which was a little pricey for the area but was very nice. the swimming pool was lovely and the spa area next to it was extremely cheap and has a large variety of treatments to choose from. we were also given complimentary 5 minute foot massages. the shuttle bus to the beach is really good and necessary. we didn't give the bikes a go as it was far too hot to be cycling anywhere but i'm sure taxis to the beach would be a cheap option. we got taxis into and out of town every day for visits and dinner as walking would be a bit far in the heat too. the hotel were also good at organising cars for us...we booked a private car to the my son ruins (well worth a visit) and we booked a car to take us to the airport too and both journeys were driven by the same hotel driver who was really lovely. all in all, a very pleasant stay in a great hotel with friendly staff.
Travel tip:
we took a lot of taxis in hoi an and i'd recommend haggling the taxi drivers down. their initial price is way off what it should be. from the centre of town to the hotel we managed to get some taxi drivers to if they really weren't having it. sometimes they'll use the meter but more often they won't but this often comes out cheaper (depending on the taxi...we had an incident in hanoi of a ridiculously rigged meter and also felt some of them in hoi an were slightly too expensive).

the breakfast was plentiful and good. it is a little bit away from the city center, but right in front of the hotel several commerces rent motorbikes for 5 dolars per day, which we found was the best option to move around, taking into account the hot weather. otherwise, the hotel has also free bikes and a shuttle service to the beach and to the city center. the only thing we didn't like is that they have birds in very little cages going nuts to strech their wing a little bit!!

we went to stay for one night, but ended up staying for four.the breakfast was great the service was great.the hotel an room were clean. it was a tad noisy the second night i let them know and they upgraded us to a deluxe room over looking the pool.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Book a motor bike across the road is half the price from the hotel.

We stayed in a big and comfortable family room. We enjoyed the nice pool. The breakfast buffet is ok. The bar offers great cocktails and has a nice view over Hoi An.
The hotel is in walking distance of the old center, but there is also a frequent shuttle in to town.
At the reception they can inform you about tailors, if you want something made in Hoi An.

Nice hotel in a strategic location

Rooms were good and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is location between the town and the beach. It is a little bit closer to town (walking distance) but the hotel runs shuttles between both the hotel and the beach/town about every hour. Taxis are really cheap to get to both anyway and there is usually a taxi out the front waiting. There are many restaurants within 500m of the hotel and all have both western and vietname cuisine. For the price of this hotel it is very good!!
Restaurant Tip:
Try dinner in the old town by the riverside.

whilst there is nothing wrong with the hoi an pacific hotel per se there's also nothing of note to recommend. for the price it's fine. the rooms are very small (well mine was). they're clean and basic. the staff are totally friendly. the food was fine but nothing special. it's a hotel that if you're in town for the night and want somewhere cheap and cheerful, it's fine.

Nice hotel about 1km from Hoi An old town

my family enjoyed their stay at this hotel. the resort style was a nice change to the inner city boutique hotel we stayed at in hanoi. reception staff service was inconsistent, mostly friendly but two reception staff were quite cold and not approachable. never-the-less we had two of the loveliest staff we had encountered in vietnam. our door man/ concierge duc was fantastic - always friendly, very funny and always enthusiastic to assist. the other staff member particularly worth noting was lily. lily's english was fantastic and she was so incredibly helpful and her customer service absolutely superb.
Shopping Tip:
Many people come to Hoi An for the tailors. Do your research, haggle fairly conservatively and only pay a deposit until you are happy with the final product. I certainly recommend Lana on Le Loi for men (business shirt's, pants etc). My wife found the tailors more challenging and needed 3-4 fittings for some pieces and still wasn't perfect - she went to Thuong (on same street as hotel) - we do not recommend this tailor.

Good location between town and the beach

This Hotel was lovely. the room was a good size and was pitch black and quiet at night; great as we had just come from noisy Hanoi! The old town was a short shuttle ride or 20 minute walk. We used the free bikes to get to the beach and it took about ten minutes. The beach is really nice and chilled! The hotel breakfast was great with an egg and pancake chef! We loved hoi an and wished we could have stayed longer!
Restaurant Tip:
Try the lighthouse restaurant! It's a romantic little place over on cam nam island, over looking the town!
