Beach Front

The Hoi An beach front follows Cua Dai and Lac Long Quan streets and fronts the South China Sea. A little over 5 km from Hoi An city center, this is an alternative place to be based for visitors who prefer a resort atmosphere. The hotels on the beach front are well priced for the amenities they provide, and guests enjoy access to an increasingly diverse selection of restaurants, bars and shops.

The central attraction here is Cua Dai Beach. Tourists come here daily from Hoi An city center, as it’s less than a 30-minute bike ride away. In the old days, this area was dominated by rice paddies with a few stilt houses here and there. Today, it’s a central tourist destination, and the beach is lined with deck chairs, cafés and merchants.

Farther north up the coast is Hoi An Beach, a more secluded area that hasn’t gone through as many changes in the past few years. There is single resort here offering Hoi An beach front accommodation. It has been carefully redeveloped and still feels like an old-world fishing village.

The Cham Islands (a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve) are visible from any point on the Hoi An beach front. They’re only a few kilometers offshore, and they’re outfitted with accommodation and rustic waterfront facilities. Regular charter boats from Cua Dai Beach get there in a little over an hour, while speedboats take about 30 minutes.
