* Private Beach * Large size room * Friendly staff * Free Internet * Free shuttle bus into town

* Little run down * Pool great but small for size of resort * Walk to private beach * Air coniditoning too strong and pointed directly on bed

The Beach Resort is right next beach but a short distance walk to its private beach. Hotel provides free bicycles and shuttles buses into town. Room was large in size but the resort in general needs some work - when we left (May 09) they were doing some refurbishment so maybe its changed. Service was great, expect to pay 250,000 Dong for trip from Denang airport. Eat at the local restaurants accross the road, great value for money and great food, hire a motorbike from accross the road if bicycle too much ( as its 7 km into town) or u dont want to be restricted by shuttle bus times ( every 3 hours). Room airconditioning is directly on bed and was too cold, had to keep turning on and off through out the night, it was too strong

Shopping Tip : Go to Dong Duong ( 57 Le Loi St ) for clothes... we are very fussy and skeptical when it comes to clothing but they were so friendly esp Minh and at a good price. Their advice was great regarding materials to use and their work is great. Take pictures with you, i had complicated items that turned out perfectly

friendly staff

feels a bit run down

The staff could not have been better, from check in everyone did their best to make sure you had everything you needed. We had a blocked shower & it was repaired in minutes, good size rooms that were clean & tidy, it just seemed a bit run down. The hotel were working on the garden pool, taking away some pathway & laying grass in its place, but the tiles around the pool were not the best, many needing repair, not that bad that we did not use the pool... just a bit run down. The hotel had bikes that you could use with out charge, but the seats were so low we could not ride them without laughing & making all the locals laugh at us.....but we did! Free bus ride to the town at 3,6 & 9pm taxi back cost 3 US$. The beach area is a short walk away, the roads & pavements are scruffy, when you get to the beach the bar area is basicly closed, they provide plenty of clean towels, beds with cusions & you can buy drinks & food, but you would be better going to the MAN beach next door for food & useing the toilet! All in all...would I stay there again? I dont think so, there are better for a little more.

Hotel Feature Tip : If you stay...get the hotel to pick you up, it costs the same as a taxi.. but better.

Just across the street from the beach, has all the facilities you need included in the rate: breakfast, free internet, bicycle, shuttle to town, beachfront area. Room was huge for the price we paid. Room had already been cleaned and towels refreshed each time we returned from briefly leaving the hotel. Very hospitable and attentive staff.

Room we got was overlooking the street, so we hear the noise out front. Very few channels on tv, but then again you don't really stay in your room very long.

We wanted a hotel that was nearer to the beach than the town as we knew we were going to spend a lot more time lounging and swimming than sightseeing and shopping. This hotel was a perfect choice! We felt that we got a lot more than we had paid for in terms of the amenities and service. We didn't need to pay anything over the rate we paid for the rooms throughout our stay. The meals offered in the hotel restaurant and the drinks offered on the beach were on the expensive side. But this shouldn't prevent you from choosing this hotel because you have a lot of other choices right around the area. In all, we'll definitely choose to stay in this hotel again if we ever go back to visit Hoi An.

Big room Interesting oriental decorations Close to beach and along the river

Not good wifi connection Far from Hoi An town

This is a nice hotel for vacation. A couple minutes walk to the beach and along the river bank. Very nice garden with small swimming pool. The atmosphere is very relax at the pool side and along the river. Very close to nature and the local way of living. The hotel provide a van to/from Hoi An every hour so it is very convenient to spend you time.

Nice and peaceful location. Clean rooms. Very good and plentiful breakfast. Excellent service and staff for the most parts speaks good english. Good service with the car/bus rental and the free use of bicycles.

The pool area should be renovated, for example some of the tiles were broken and loose.

Hotel restaurant a little bit overpriced which was explained by the hotel manager on a board in the reception area.. We ate one meal in the hotel restaurant and all the others on the small restaurants on the same street as the hotel. Enjoyed the others better with five times smaller bills =) The food in the hotel restaurant wasn't bad just average. We also liked the surrounding area of the hotel because the beach was quite peaceful and not all that growded. The hotel has it's own private area on the beach with free sunbeds etc. for the hotel guests. The ladies selling small souvenirs and other stuff on the other areas on the beach can be bit annoying.

Shopping Tip : Taylor shop (Bao Ni) near the hotel was very good! It's on the other side of the road on the way to the beach about 100 m from the hotel.. We were very pleased with all the things made and would absolutely recommend them. We also liked the restaurant that is on the right side before the bridge when going towards Hoi An few hundred meters from the hotel. Reasonable prices GOOD food.

You can walk out the door into the shopping street. The Hotel has a spacious feel about it nice restaurant and pool area.

It is a walk across the road and down a bit to the Hotel's private Beach area.

We enjoyed our stay at at the River - Beach Resort. After coming from Saigon and Ha Noi it was a welcomed quieter, calmer place. The Hotel offers a free shuttle service every 3 hours into the old Town Hoi An. The last bus coming back at 9.15pm. The room was clean and spacious would recommend a ground floor room near the pool so it is not too much of a walk to reception, the breakfast area ant the pool. It is in an ideal location where you can walk out on to the main shopping street. Here you can purchase many things at good prices - they are sometimes prepared to negotiate more than in the cities. The beach has not been welcoming to us both times I have stayed at Cu Dai beach so I have yet to experience it.

Shopping Tip : Souvenir Shop outside the Hotel to the right LE HOA Very honest and good prices. T shirts scarfs shorts etc. A pleasure to shop there. YALY tailors in Hoi An where the free shuttle bus stops in town were great they copied a dress perfectly in 24 hours for me and the quality and fit was excellent. They are a little more expensive than the other tailors in town but you will be guaranteed of a quality job with very efficient professional staff. The Cargo Bar is a top quality restaurant overlooking the River - a littl more expensive than some in Hoi An but still inexpensive compared to Australia. The quality cannot be faulted it is in my opinion 5 star!

Located on the fringe of Hoi An.

The gymnasium needs to be upgraded.

This hotel is located on the fringe of Hoi An away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, but still in an area that has restaurants and shops on its doorstep as well as a two minute walk on to the beach. There is a free mini bus service that the hotel provides to take you in and out of the Hoi An city center. All of the staff are very friendly and will guide you through the pros and cons of Vietnam. The hotel has large clean rooms with the majority having balconies. All facilities are provided although the gymnasium and business center computers need to be upgraded. In reality these items are minor and should not be required on a holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay over five days and plan to return on a future trip.

Restaurant Tip : For a full Vietnam experience dine in the local restaurants. Hire a scooter for the day to see the local sights, alternatively the hotel will provide you with free bicycles.

The hotel had a friendly staff and was located between a river and the beach

The hotel room was somewhat tired looking and the sink drain was broken

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hoi An is very interesting and the hotel has a shuttle to and from town.

Beautiful setting, spacious, comfortable rooms, excellent service.

Distant (5 kilometers) from town though 200 meters from the beach.

River Beach is a superb hotel, in a beautiful setting, oriental in style but with the most modern facilities. And the service is excellent and gracious. Its one drawback is that, though close to the beach, it is a $3 taxi ride to town. And Hoi An is just a beautiful town to roam in.

Not a bad location if the weather is good, it is right near the beach. Otherwise you are about $5 US taxi from town. Pool was reasonable. Hoi An is a great area. Really good!

And why the insistance on using those traditional massive Vietnamese wooden chairs. Those thrones are really uncomfortable. Maybe they should buy some of the local lanterns to give the rooms a little more character... that would be cool.

Seems they are chasing stars!!! Probably only a 2-3 star dressed up as better. Oh well, I am sure this gives them an extra star. The manager was a bit full of himself, and it was apparent that the staff didn't like him that much! We had a funny little x-files incident too....we came back to the room and found a banana had been taken from our fruit bowl, munched and left on the floor on the other side of the room. The staff were really good and we had 4 of them turn up (one armed with a plasic pipe - not sure what he would have done with that!) Big hunt, but no mouse holes found. No explanation.... hmmm.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go to the cooking school at Red Bridge - awesome value!!! Great experience!!!

Beautiful setting, excellent rooms, lovely pool, great breakfast, lovely views from the hotel and rooms.

None really very happy with this hotel. If you wanted to be in central Hoi An then this hotel is a little way out - 5 kilometres so a shuttle or taxi are needed.

Excellent hotel- we stayed in a superior twin river view room-booked 2 rooms - one for friends- both the double and twin rooms were very spacious and had wonderful views over the pool, and the river- beautiful views and setting. Spacious balconies, pool was lovely, seating on the river -lovely atmosphere. Shops and small restaurants near hotel, the beach was down the street a short walk from the hotel. The breakfast was excellent a buffet with lots of choices. Our friends ate at the hotel for dinner and said the food was very good. A free shuttle ran regularly to Hoi An and the taxi fare was about $5 Australian if you missed the shuttle. Hotel staff were helpful, I wanted to stay longer and would definitely stay there again.

Restaurant Tip : We ate twice at the Son, a small restaurant with a nice relaxed atmosphere set over the river on the way into Hoi An very close to the Riverside resort. We had nice meals there. We also enjoyed meals in Hoi An including those down on the river and one restaurant with lots of lanterns across the bridge in Hoi An

staff is over-the-top friendly and efficient, a nice place with nice rooms at very reasonable prices, breakfast incomparably extensive and good.

None

The free shuttle to town is efficient and really all you need for access. Unfortunately, it rained my entire visit so proximity to the beach was wasted on me. I would definitely stay here next time.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : I would only go to Hoi An again if the weather was good and I could get out into the countryside. The town is simply a tourist trap of the worst kind. It reminded me of a rundown Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The hotel, however, although not a four star place, was far better than it should have been for the price. Highly recommend.

Very warm and friendly staffs. Nice view over the river

Room bit smelly. Particularly the bathroom. Not up to 4-star standard

We arrived on a rainy day. First impression was OK with warm reception. We didnot like the room so much with all antique-look wood furniture. Bathroom was smelly, so it didnot give you a feeling of hygene. Location is convenient, just few minutes walk to the beach. We really enjoyed the GALA dinner with all performances as the rain was pouring down. The food was pretty OK. To sum up, if the hotel can do a bit touch-up to the room, it would be much better feeling.

Restaurant Tip : For seafood lover, check out "SEN" restaurant along the beach

The service was excellent, very friendly staff and very pro-active people. They listened to and understood our needs, they provided us top quality service with a smile.

The construction of the hotel, some of the rooms were not really constructed 100%, some parts of the door frame missing to the bathroom etc, but this is to be expected in Vietnam. Also, wooden floors in the room meant it got dirt on it a lot from outside as we walked in, the staff never swept the room.

Overall a very good hotel, the service and friendly staff, better then any hotel's service in Australia. They really looked after us, I will be going back.

Shopping Tip : The place we went to get clothes made was A Dong Silk, 50,000 Dong taxi ride from the hotel. They made my pants perfectly and very fast, but when my partner got stuff copied, they didn't copy to the exact size, but they fixed it for us in the end. These people are trustworthy and will look after you.
