Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Swimming pool, plants and decor.Friendly, helpful staff, very nice room with extra comfortable large beds.Breakfast good choice of food.Very clean.
little bit out of town, but has free shuttle service
The Southern Hotel&villas has been my absolute favorite hotel of all the hotels in South East Asia(i have stayed in 18 hotels in 9 weeks travelling)The ambience of the hotel makes it a joy to stay in.The rooms are very cool and inviting in a French colonial style.Wooden shutters and a terrace view of the surrounding fruit orchards. The beds are a very generous size and extremely comfortable. The decor throughout the hotel is of a very high standard. The buffet breakfast has numerous choices of good food. The staff are helpful, courteous and friendly.Bicyles for hire($1 a day)get you into town and through the beautiful countryside to the quiet beach.I highly recommend this hotel to anyone, families with chidren, couples etc
Travel tip : Be careful when choosing tailors in town, the quality of material used, especially linen and the finished garments can be of very poor quality unfortunately.
Bobo's family restaurant on Le Loi is very good and has great food.

The pool area was clean. The atmosphere around breakfast was relaxing. The breakfast was value for the price inclusive.
No jugs in the room and since you are a little isolated at nights, you can't go anywhere for a hot drink at night. The rooms could be updated a little. A bit more variety for breakfast with hot boxes being filled more regularly.
Our first impression of the hotel arriving at night was a little scary. I thought it looked nothing like the pictures and very run down and isolated. The location was a little far out of town and I was given the impression it was close to the beach rather than town, but this was not so either. After settling I found Hoi An took a little adjusting to and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a little old and misleading, and I don't know how is compares to other hotels in town, but for the price you can't really complain. Staying in town around the river area would be lovely as we spent a lot of time shopping in town and eating in town since it was so cheap.
Shopping Tip : I was disappointed with the taylors and shoe makers. A lot of time is wasted with fittings. We went to a few different taylors and maybe it was just the ones we chose, but workmanship was not that good and the shoes made were very disappointing - with my daughters breaking the first day she wore them at home. Maybe if you are copying designer outfits it is worth it but I wouldn't recommend it.

A bit far away, although they offer a free shuttle on the 1/2 hour and a taxi is only $1USD away. They suggest going to their Tailor, which was not a good experience for us.
The hotel is a bit further away from town. I would say it would be about a 15 minute walk, but not too far. The hotel offers a shuttle every half hour during certain hours of the day. It is only $1 taxi ride in case you are coming back late. The shuttle drops you in front of their recommended tailor - Southern Silk. We didn't find their material to be that great. My sister got a pair of pants made their that were terrible. They kept trying to do fittings - I think they did 3-4. It was a waste of time and $. However, they did make us some nice dress shirts that fit for $15 each. I would recommend their business shirts. Overall, I was happy with my stay. Staff was helpul. I think our hotel room was the nicest we stayed in, in all of Vietnam.
Restaurant Tip : We wanted to do the Red Bridge cooking school, but they were sold out. We went to the Hai Cafe, which was nice.
