The worst hotel value for money in Vietnam!

Service was terrible, female staff quite helpful but the men just lazed around in the reception watching TV and ignored guests. Room keys were left out on the side unattended in a busy reception, we had to ask the staff to put them away. Our room key was given to someone else in error! Rooms were dirty (especially the bathroom), swimming pool was in a hotel round the corner and water was really murky and unclean looking. Breakfast was poor, Vietnemese coffee was the high light. Tables dusted but not wiped. Not good value for money, we have stayed in much nicer cheaper hotels. The only plus for us was the location but there are plenty of other hotels in same locality.
Shopping Tip:
There is a great jewellers in town called Lotus Jewellery - they have 2 shops and sell great quality jewellery at reasonable prices. They re-sized a ring for me in 3 hours.

great staff but overpriced

staff were fantastic but felt room was exceptionally overpriced for asia. rooms very small. breakfast good, but other food on menu really poor. pool is freezing almost unbearable even on a 38 degree day.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
andy hoian easy riders- we had an amazing 3 days on the motobike thru the central highlands with him. tell him diva and mel from australia recommeded you. he is a really gret young bloke.

good location. it's very close to the downtown area. you could go shopping right across the street of the hotel. Sinh Cafe is about 10 min walk. I live on the first floor. Open the door there is a little yard with chairs. quite relax! nice place. But the breakfast is not in the hotel. you have to take a walk to get it.

Nothing goes wrong,safe and sound.
Clean and spacious room. Plus there is a small verandah for smokers.breakfast at original thanh which is around the corner.it is buffet breakfast.

we arrived on full moon night. hoi an was shut down all light and lit up lanterns. it is beautiful but very noisy with motorbike of all locals cruising around the riverside. worth visiting ,check lunar calendar before planning.
Travel tip:
There is 24 hours supermarket near the hotel .

the rooms are very large, the have free internet in the lobby and the breakfast is great. the breakfast and swiming pool are in the next door hotel, but is the same. the location is near everything, and if you need they have bikes or motorbikes to rent. also i made my self two suits in ther, excelent quality!.
but the best is the staff, luckily we met "mrs.flower" that was very kind to us, we are so gratefull for everything. definitely we will come back.

the room was lovely and had a king-sized bed along with an extra twin bed that i used as a landing pad for all of my stuff - not that i needed to, as there was ample room in the armoire, drawers, and on tables, chairs, and a beautiful vanity. the balcony was so nice to relax on, with a table and chairs, and there was a bathtub which really was the clincher to my stay in hoi an! everything worked well, the staff was helpful, the included breakfast was incredible, and the location was amazing - right in the center of town, and you can rent a bike for $1 and be at the beach in 20 minutes. just don't go to the spa around the corner - it was a total waste of money.

We loved this hotel. Our room was really big, nice comfortable bad with musquito net, shower and buthtub right in the room - very romantic. Location was really good. The only minus is there is no restaurant and you have to go for breakfast to the hotel next door.

Unfortunately,I have nothing nice to say about this hotel. The room was nothing like the pictures and lets face it, pictures and reviews are all we have to go on when booking a hotel miles away. We think we are pretty easy going people, we travel a lot & stay in many places and are very accepting but after a day out and about, experiencing all the joys & wonders of a new place and your senses getting a work out with the many different - some wonderful, some not so wonderful smells, it's nice to come back to a clean room to relax a little and take a shower etc. The rooms at this hotel absolutely stink. We had to ask to be moved from the ist room they gave us. We accepted it for the ist night but next day Nooooo. They gave us another room which we were most grateful for. The room was open when we moved in. Closed the door and very soon it was painful to stay in it. Closed the doors to bathroom, opened the balcony door then tried aircon - but didn't help. Also one working powerpoint in room and the TV was plugged into it. The towels and bedsheets were stained and badly pilled and the shower, what shower!!! It literally dribbled and then got sooo hot and couldn't be adjusted. all I'm saying is there definitely is much better hotels for the same $$'s than this one. We've stayed in much cheaper places that could not be faulted.
