The Nam Hai is extremely impressive, from the long driveway, the elevated reception area, and the sweeping views of the ocean..
We were picked up from the airport by a courteous driver who offered us cold towels and cool drinks, and checked whether the air conditioned vehicle was comfortable for us. We were offered a well-located villa near the ocean, quiet and private..as described by other reviewers, the mini bar was complimentary, so was laundry service.
An extremely generous touch was the complimentary pre-dinner drinks at the bar,where the service was impeccable and the canapes delicious..
We ate at the restaurant and the beach restaurant for 2 nights, and the selection was generous with excellent food prepared.
All in, we cant wait to return to the Nam Hai, where our stay was made perfect thanks to the attentive staff. Kudos to Thomas, the Executive Assistant Manager, who was extremely hospitable.

The Nam Hai is a great hotel with high standards and equally high quality. We stayed in a 1 bedroom Pool Villa. The GHM Hotel music is great, the ipod music is already playing when you are taken to your villa. We had room service which was great each time. On one occaison we ordered from the restaurant menu which had a bit more selection than the In Room Dining Menu.
I had a balinese style massage at the spa which I recommend - it was great value. The spa is a real 'Spa' experience from the moment you arrive, professional, organised & seamless.
Shopping Tip:
Complimentary return shuttle to Hoi An is available 4 times a day.

Best in the Area

The Nam Hai is definitely the best hotel in the area. The products and design are top notch, the pool is amazing, but if you are looking for a quiet intimate vacation, the Nam Hai may not be the right place. The hotel is crowded and busy and there are a ton of screaming kids in the swimming pools. Everything is also ultra expensive. Car service to Hoi An is $30 when it costs only $4 for a taxi. The service is good but not intimate like Ana Mandara in Nha Trang. If you are looking for a beach experience with intimate service for 2/3 the price, Ana Mandara is a better hotel (though Nam Hai surpasses in quality of products and design). But with that in mind, there is a lot to do/see in Hoi An and Danang. The Nam Hai is a great launching ground to explore the region. Also, there are a million steps in the rooms and the hotel which makes it not conducive for older people.

Definitely explore Hoi An and take a boat cruise in the Hoi An River

An Escape
The hotel is beautiful and you really don't feel like you are in Vietnam at all. The rooms are spacious and the views unparalleled.

Staying at the Nam Hai was a great memorable experience. We stayed in a standard villa which was spacious. There was a rain shower that was a nice touch. There are alot of steps in the room however so you have to be very careful getting up at night to go to the bathroom. The bed is elevated on a platform and so you have to be careful about not falling. The property is also huge but the golf cars are always around to take you to the pool or restaurants. I recommend asking for a villa near the pool to make things more convenient.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we cannot say a bad thing about this hotel. our villa was immaculate, not a thing out of place , from nibbles to bathrobes, tv to ipod, any queries were handled promptly and with a smile. The food was amazing - breakfast , lunch and dinner . Staff were plentiful and always looking to please. All in all the best hotel we have ever stayed at and would return in a heartbeat.

Indulge yourself in a spa treatment you wont be disappointed

Luxury at a price!
The rooms, by far, are exceptional. Very large and very opulent, the design of the room is chic and contemporary.
Service at the hotel is excellent - everyone uses your name, they remember important things, little extras are thrown in that make the difference.

This hotel is truly a little slice of luxury for those who can afford it. We have stayed at three GHM hotels now (The Datal Langkawi and The Chedi Muscat previously) and this one was the best in terms of the rooms as they really are so lovely. Each one is a separate villa - we had the standard hotel villa without pool but it was fine as we were right on the edge of the horseshoe layout near the hotel itself and about two minutes walk from the pool, so no real hardship not to have our own pool. There is an outdoor patio with sunbeds, a lounge/sitting area, on the next level up there is a king size bed and immediately behind it is a reading console and day bed along with a luxurious bath. Behind all that and on a level down is the entry and behind that a spacious bathroom with double sinks, then an outside terrace with your own private outdoor shower. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and my wife's birthday whilst at the hotel and all the staff were aware of these events and made sure to offer congratulations. They sent a cake and champagne for our anniversary and sent my wife a cake and a beautiful bunch of flowers on her birthday - so nice and so unexpected. They always remember your name, inluding that of our daughter and couldn't do enough for you. We took advantage of the agoda promotional offer of stay 4 nights pay for three and accordingly we got lots of extras thrown in which was a real bonus - free laundry, free minibar, free shuttle service, free airport transfer, breakfast inlcuded (same for all) and also a free lunch and dinner (both set menus). Couldn't ask for anything more....the other thing that was nice is that at least four members of the management team introduced themselves to us during our stay and had a general chat - again a nice touch and made you feel like they valued every guest.

Stunning resort, but be prepared for rain
Fabulous breakfast, stunning architecture and spacious rooms barely tempt you from the palm-lined Olympic-size pool looking over the ocean.

Exceptionally relaxing resort with lovely rooms, friendly service and great proximity to the culturally insteresting Hoi An nearby. We enjoyed the gym, but were surprised by the $20 tennis charge. We loved the rooms, but were glad we were on the horseshoe closest to the main restaurant and pool. The exceptional Indian food was better than the Vietnamese and breakfast was fabulous. The sun struggled to shine over our 8 day stay, but we still left with some color. Best time to go would be Chinese New Year or Easter for better weather.

My husband and I stayed at the Nam Hai 2 weeks ago for my birthday - and this must be one of my most memorable ones yet! We were welcomed by names as we disembarked from the taxi - and were upgraded as it was for a special occasion. Thomas the manager is pure pleasure to deal with. Being upgraded meant we had a 3 br oceanfront villa with our own infinity pool and our very own Butler. The resort itself was beautifully maintained, everything looked brand new. The friendliness (but at the same time professional) of the staff was refreshing. The food at the restaurant was exquisite (their curries rock!)- but are pricey - which is what you would expect from a resort of this calibre. There is a free shuttle service into Hoi An town, so if you wish you can also head out there for a meal or a bit of shopping and tailoring.
Hung our Butler was fantastic - he even gave me a birthday present on my birthday! He prepared our villa pool with beautiful Hoi An lanterns floating on them, had candles lit around in our living/dining room, gorgeous bunch of roses on a table set up for our private birthday dinner in which he served us course by course. The villa manager Duarte also sent me a complimentary birthday cake - almost a semi-freddo like cake which was gorgeous.
I could go on and on so do yourself and your loved ones a favour - book yourself a pool villa, a spa treament (it is hugely popular as i saw heaps of couples there waiting for a treatment)- for the Vietnamese massage. It is absolutely heavenly!
This hotel has totally converted me to only stay at GHM hotels wherever possible!
Restaurant Tip:
If you are eating at their restaurant, go the curry - i think the head chef is Indian (but from Australia?) - but it's fantastic! Extensive wine menu - but no sommelier for advice (esp when some wines are around the $4500USD mark!)

Close to perfection

This hotel is everything you can expect from a top notch hotel and for the price you pay and then some more... The facilities are simply superb in concept and up to the final details. The rooms are wide, airy, sublimely sunlit during the day and yet feel very cozy again at night thanks to a well thought of overall curtain system. The views from anywhere in the room are simply breathtaking. Bathroom and outdoor shower are dreamlike! Service is impeccable. I know Vietnam well and understand that this is far from easy to achieve at this time. HR management has done a tremendous job at selecting and training an excellent team of professionals. Only problem with our stay was that we had to leave at some point!
