disappointing stay, great decoration and quiet

We were really disappointed as it was recommended by friends.
Good points: the swimming pool and the common area are very beautiful. Decoration is amazing and it is really quiet. The architecture is done with a great taste and was delightful.
Points to improve: 1st, the staff, especially the woman at the welcome desk was unprofessional in our opinion. If you travel with a baby and if you don't like that people try to take your baby from your arms without asking, don't go there. We refused 3 days in a row politely, still she insisted. The last time she tried before we left and I said no, she answered "why are you so complicated?" (sao kho qua vay?). As a guest and customer, I expect some more respect of my own choices. Some people like to be quiet, some not. We like to discuss and let people play and smile with our baby, but not to tear him off our arms.
The saturday night, the man at the desk seemed drunk (he smelled strong alcohol), and when we asked to arrange a drop off for the day after to the airport, he understood nothing even in vietnamese and was even not articulating his words(car to pick us up at 5pm, he said 6.30pm? 7pm?) so we let go to arrange it the day of the departure.
The room was not clean. We put our feet on the floor, they were dark right away and we could feel the dust. The sofa was full of big spots of we don’t know what, around the mirror it was not clean either, dust in the corner of the table, same in the wardrobes so we didn’t put our things directly in it, but on the extra blanket they gave us.
This is not a baby friendly room, as there are 2 small steps on the floor between the bed and the sofa, so we couldn’t let our baby play there. There was a hole between the bed and the sofa, so we had to put pillows in between to make sure our baby wouldn’t fall.
It could be a nice hotel for people without baby and who are less strict than us on cleanliness and respect of the peacefulness of the guests.

I still love it

This was my second time at Hoa Su and I'm glad to have returned. It's been a year since my last stay, and I do agree with other reviewers that the rooms are showing some wear. But it is still such a peaceful location with the gardens, ponds and pool. I especially love the outdoor shower/bath(although the stones do hurt my feet a bit--very minor issue). The staff are so friendly and attentive. My partner was ill and they were very helpful. I love the private location. Staff can call taxi easily or you can ride a push bike into town or to the beach.

Overall very nice, friendly staff, free bicycles to get around, organised airport pickup, good location between city and beach, both about 2 km away, few minutes on the bicycles. Breakfast could use some more variety, but the setting of the breakfast area lets one oversee this easily.

It was a very pleasant stay. Great to have the bicycles and th epool. The setting is marvellous. Breakfast is a bit slow and not too creative. First night was overbooked and we had to use a different room. But staff was very friendly and apologetic. All in all it is a real gem and we will come back for sure.

this hotel is beautiful, although not in the city centre it is very close to both the shopping district and beach. the hotel provides bikes and motorcycles to get around or you can catch a $2 cab ride. Recommended for people who are wanting to wind down and relax in a peaceful environment.

The only drawback is that you need to get taxis in and out of the city as the hotel is in a farmland area so there is no public transpor. It can be a little annoying but the hotel has agreements with the taxis service so you never get cheated.

Villa Hoa Su had to be one of the most memorable stays of our entire two week trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. It is the quintessential garden hotel—filled with beautiful plants, trees and a koi pond swimming with fish. From the moment we walked in, we knew we’d found paradise. The staff was so accommodating and kind; they made us feel right at home. There are only five units here, so you feel like you’re staying in your own luxury private villa in the middle of a botanical garden. You even get your own private outdoor shower and tub (in addition to the inside one). They also have good food and very reaosnably priced bottles of wine—so upon arrival, we immediately ordered a bottle of champagne to unwind by the pool. Afterward, we grabbed the free bikes and rode to the beach, which is easily accessible from the hotel. The location is ideally situated between the beach and the charming town of Hoi An, which has amazing food and which is the THE place to get a suit tailored in Vietnam. I got 3 made in less than 30 hours (complete with multiple fittings for each!). While days of beach, shopping, cooking, and site seeing, are amazing, the real magic is waking up each morning at the Villa Hou Su.

Peaceful, Amazing, Hidden Treasure

We originally booked 1 night, but have stayed 4. This villa is wonderful! When we arrived at the front gate, it looked like no one was home and that it was an old dumpy house. As soon as we walked through the entrance we were glad we booked this place. Because there's only a small number of rooms, the staff are very friendly and helpful. They like to have a chat to you and ask questions. I fell quite ill one day, and the staff were quite concerned and offered remedies they felt would help me.
The villas are about 3kmout of the main city centre. It cost us about $2.50 by taxi each time. There are bicycles to use for free, which I think all the other guests utilised. The villas are next to a river. It is nice to listen to the frogs and birds instead of the traffic! Well maintained grounds, beautiful pool and eating area. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

we arrived at villa hoa su after a 20 hour overnight trip from sa pa to be met by a smile and shown to our room amidst beautiful gardens . enjoyed our three day stay and would have been happy to stay longer.
the villa is located in a residential quarter between the town and beach and provides bikes to get around.
the manager and owner were very efficient and helpful during our visit.
the pool is just amazing !!!

Cycle to the out of town beach and have lunch at one of the sea front cabins - great value and location
