Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

The Imperial Hotel Hue is a fantastic hotel available at a very resonable rate. Checkin and bag service was prompt. The rooms were spacious, well apointed and clean. The restaurants were equally well apointed, with beautiful views and served delicious food. A truly great value!

Almost 5-star hotel... But pleasant experience
Nice decor, room size, facilities provided
8
I booked this hotel based on the attractive selling rate / promotion and also great reviews. Here is my summary of my 3-night stay here.
Location: Good central location although not along the river, it is not far and from your room, you can see the view of the river. There is a night market by the bridge, which is worth a visit.
Lobby and Reception: I like the decoration there. The ceiling is high and is really reflecting its name "Imperial". There is one cafe and a japanese restaurant there. I didn't try both but on one occasion there was an event with locals and they sang karaoke so loudly.
Room: Very nice and the size is big. The quality of linen used is good and the mattress is still in good condition. The only comment is the bathroom. Although there is a dedicated bathtub and a shower room, the washing basin and area could be a little bigger.
Housekeeper: Great and prompt service. I could have given them a full five stars but there was one day that they forgot to provide us a turn down service.
Food and Beverage: We booked room only. So we couldn't rate this. But I tried to go to their rooftop restaurant one time at 6 pm for a drink but it wasn't open yet. This should give you a pleasant view of the city.
Staff in general: pleasant... but they could have improved their english language a bit to become a real 5-star hotel.
Nightlife Tip:
Go to Pham Ngu Lau street. This is the nightlife area and it is closed to the river. (actually opposite the Century Hue Hotel). There are some nice bars around with inexpensive drinks.

Perfect 5 Star Hotel in Hue - Vietnam
Staffs served with profession and smile
9.7
We had our honeymoon over here. I told the receptionist that I planned to give a surprise to my wife and they what they do were first give us 2 sweet chocolate followed by a surprising honeymoon cake with FULL of ALMOND. Can you imagine how lovely is it with an additional of fresh rose and orchid as welcome gift.
Condition of the room is very nice with its ancient interior design. I stay at 9th floor and the night view of the city is magnificent. Besides, the condition of the toilet is clean and look like new. I take my bath in the bathtub with complimentary fruits. There is a sky bath as well. Oh My god.
For traveller who need to have a relaxation and enjoyable but not likely to spend much in accommodation, personally, I would strongly suggest Imperial Hotel when any of you in Hue. Last but not least, please check Agoda before walk in as they do not offer price as competitive as Agoda. I love you Agoda for the last minute deal.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The location is strategically located in the heart of the Hue city. in less that 10 min walk, you can reach the night market and also the only shopping centre in Hue. 3 min walk to most of the travel agent such as Sinh Tourist. All the convenience shop such as telco store is in less that 2 min walk.

Great location and nice views on rooftop

The staff were very friendly, the hotel looks like it came out of the Vietnamese imperial city. The room decor was very "imperial" looking.
Comfortable bed, beautiful view of the river. The pool was lovely, when my partner and I stayed here we used the pool each day.
The best views of Hue and the river is at the top of the hotel at the rooftop bar. Spectacular.
The location was great, walking distance from the shops and short taxi ride everywhere else.
Great value for money.

On the plus side, the facilities are nice and grand, in that dark, depressing, communist block kind of way, and the room and bathroom were large and nice. But the service is what keeps this from being a 5-star hotel. The small annoyances add up, like the bartender who had never heard of a vodka martini. He turned off the background music in the "King's Panorama bar", instead turning on the TV so he and the rest of the staff could watch their favorite local soap opera at full volume. Or the chef at the breakfast buffet, who leaned over the counter in front of me, cutting me off in order to serve himself a bacon sandwich, which he promptly chomped down on right there. I was quoted two different prices (both highly inflated) for the same tour when I visited the concierge at different times, and pushed to take more tours whenever I had a free minute. Not really the kind of desperate money grubbing I expect from a five star hotel. I never saw pool staff during my stay, there was no food offered in the mini bar, the computers in the lobby are very old... Basically it was a disappointing experience, and I hope the management will know that my criticisms are born of a genuine desire to help the hotel to improve, and will not reply to my review with the excuses and defensiveness I have read in responses to other customer feedback.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Do not fall for the overpriced tours, even if they say their prices are the same as other five star hotels. I find this to be suspect, since they also claim to be the only five-star hotel in Hue.

Great location, great people

The hotel is a mixture of elegant royal and modern styles. Together with the river view, there's nothing more peaceful than waking up in the early morning, having breakfast buffet and enjoying. The location is also great to walk and sight-see.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Should try a Xich-lo tour to see the real Hue and feel the fresh air
