the property is absolutely beautiful, art deco style, location, professional and helpful staff, comfortable room La Residence Hotel is an extremely beautiful property well located in Hue. The staff is attentive and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with modern well equipped bathrooms.
The free computer room was an added bonus we didn't expect.
All in all this was possibly the best hotel we stayed at in Vietnam.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hire a guide and visit the tombs and pagodas to get the most out of the experience.

Lovely rooms, great ambience. Food was reasonably priced, staff friendly and helpful. Drinks a bit on the expensive side and tours arranged through the concierge a bit expensive. We enjoyed out stay. The rooms were very nice and conmfortable and the holte has a lovely feel about it. Also a good location, out a little bit but reasonable to walk into the heart of Hue.

Lovely riverside location, large, well appointed room with balcony. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Meals are excellent and the breakfast buffet even includes Aussie Vegemite. Cannot fault this magnificent property. We were delighted on arrival to see the Australian flag flying, along those of other guest's countries, at the entrance. Welcome drinks were served in the Art Deco style bar overlooking the garden. The room was large and well appointed. We dined the restaurant that night, and the service and meals were exceptional(and great value too), we highly recommend the Three Tenors Chocolate Dessert. There was everything you could wish for at breakfast, including Vegemite! La Residence is on our list of places to return to.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We caught a boat around the corner from the hotel to the Perfume Pagoda. Excellent one hour cruise, try boat Number 21, with their gorgeous 3 year old son Tom, who has the biggest smile.

nice pool, decent service, pretty much as expected The hotel is right next to the perfume river. Our room had a great view of the city. The hotel staff was very accommodating and pleasant. I would definitely stay here again, though Hue is pretty small and probably not worth the trip back.

Beautiful hotel and gardens. Great location for a relaxing stay. Very good service. Incredibly good food and atmosphere at the restaurant. Good spa The best hotel I stayed in Vietnam. Slightly apart from the heart of the city which is a clear advantage in this case. Highly recommended.

Beautiful plant, great service, good food This is an elegant "art deco" hotel is beautiful and comfortable. The food is excellent, the service superb and the rooms are delightful. The Spa is excellent and a good value. They are good at arranging tours for their guests through a resident travel agency in the lobby. The pool is a delightful respite from a day's touring in hot weather. I would definitely recommend this hotel and Hue in general.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Leave enough time for at least three days touring. This is a major site for palaces and temples!

Charming building and pool area, fine staff, good food and nice rooms This is a beautiful colonial restoration in the Art Deco style and a very pleasing place to stay. The staff are considerate and helpful and the service is excellent. The location is fine, right beside the river, and walking distance to restaurants and other sights. We had a very enjoyable stay there and would recommend it as the best in town.
Restaurant Tip : our favorite restaurant was the White Marble Wine bar--excellent food, inexpensive good wine and great prices.

Beautiful art-deco building, looking great from the outside and inside. Accommodation good and staff very friendly and helpful. Good free internet room with 6 terminals. Large deep pool good for swimming and relaxing around. Very good breakfast choices. Just outside main town so need short taxi ride. The pool may not suit families due to limited shallow area (did not bother us!). This is a stunning looking hotel, both inside and out. Standard of accomodation is very good, staff good and breakfast very good. It's just outside the main central areas - places are walkable but it was very hot whilst we were there and so we got taxis. Our room was not large but not sure how typical it was. This is a large grand hotel so definitely not in the 'boutique' category. Ths spa looked good although we did not use it.

The hotel was appointed perfectly, blending the old-world charm of the Governor's residence with new furnishings and an incredibly friendly and unpretentious attitude towards service. The pool (with a view of the Forbidden City) is a definite plus! Lack of good local eateries within walking distance La Residence represents the best value for money I have encountered in a hotel for a very long time. With 5-star service, the room rates are very reasonable, and the staff are incredibly eager to assist with any request at any time. The swimming pool is amazing, the view from the pool was amazing, and the staff opened the swimming pool after hours to enable a group to go night swimming when it was supposed to be closed, even providing warm towels. The height of service and value for money.
Hotel Feature Tip : Definitely spend some time by the pool - and grab a view of the Forbidden City!

The food was fantastic!!!! I ate all my meals at the restaurant and savored every bite. I had no interest in eating elsewhere.
Internet!! There are plenty of PCs to go around in a tastefully decorated room.
My room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Climbing in and out of the bathtub required stepping up on a small wooden block covered by a bathmat. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at La Residence and regretted that I wasn't staying longer. From the moment I entered the hotel I liked the feel of the place. The staff was always pleasant. A nice selection of food was presented at breakfast and the evening meals were scrumptious. You can easily take a cyclo to the citadel or to the river boats from the hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Try the banana flower salad!

Very good service The staff is very friendly but not of the level seen in Europe. We ordered a taxi 3 days in advance and at the day of departure it seemed they had forgotten it. Pricy. The hotel, the location, the breakfast and the atmosphere is fantastic (colonial if I dare to say).
Although the staff sounds completely professional a number of details show that it's not a European 4-star hotel (all small details).
However it's the very best you can get in Hué !!!

Nice pool, great food, clean room, excellent service! We arrived at the hotel early, luckily we could checked in. The manager upgraded us to nicer rooms because when we registered, the staff found out it was one of our friend's birthday. We were very surprised! later, the staff sent the cake to her room, she was so happy! it really made her birthday so memorable!
Great restaurant, we enjoyed the breakfast and dinner! beautiful indoor and outdoor dining hall.
Nice garden and pool! we were there every late afternoon. We really had wonderful experience with La Residence and look forward to stay in any La Residence again.

Loved everything inside about the hotel. Free and 24/7 internet. Food...excellent! Service.....excellent! The outside needs to be repainted. There was mold on all of the walls. It was not very appealing to open up your windows and stare at mold!
