Couples Denmark, April 01, 2013	BEWARE OF THIEFS AMONG THE PERSONEL/STAFF Very rude personel with poor english skills 5.7 We had an I-pod worth 300 US dollars and foreign currency worth 200 US dollars (totalling 500 US dollars) stolen from our locked room as we where out in town. Moreover the theft was done in two paces. The I-pod was stolen the first day of our stay, the money the next day. We know for sure, that the way the theft was conducted proves that the thief is to be found among the hotel staff. We are aware that it is a serrious aqusation. But we know for a fact, that it can not be an outsider. There was very little help to get from the reception, simple because their english skills were so poor. Understanding or not, they had a good laugh among eachother, even though the atmosphere was tense. The following morning we talked to the manager, who started out denying that theft occured at her hotel. Thereafter she blamed us for not taking better care of our belongings (there was no safetybox to put our values into in the room. Combined with an experience in india a couple of years ago, where one of us had our moneybelt stolen by a pickpocketer in the street, it led us to the conclusion that our things would be safer in our closed bakpacks in our locked hotelroom - not having imagination enough to find out that it was not to be the case). Even though we have asked several times, we never had a confirmation from the hotel, that we had reported our things stolen from our hotelroom. Therefore we are now struggling with our insurancecompany. The message is this; the vague way the manager reacted, indicates that you might expect more thefts from the rooms at New Star Hotel. Therefore, be extra carefull about your things and do not count ón any help from those responsible of the hotel, if anything gets stolen. Allthough neat, the hotel was not worth the app. 600 US dollars it ended up costing us for the 3 Nights. Before making this review, Agoda have received a much more detailed mail about the incidence.
