- excellent location
- spacious rooms, beautifully appointed
- helpful people
Only 18 rooms, but ours was spacious and very well appointed by any standard you choose to apply. Everything about the hotel is excellent. Although the street looks a bit dodgy at first, you soon come to realise its a very convenient location. Terrific value for money.

Exceptional staff
Spacious, clean and comfy room
I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel.
The staff were fantastic - really friendly and helpful. I always enjoyed seeing them each time I left and when I returned.
The room was brilliant - comfy bed, really good bathroom, and a computer with free internet to top it off!
I had read that the breakfast selection was average but I was very happy with it... depends on how much you want to eat I guess.
The only (very slight) drawback for some might be the distance away from the main area of Hue - i.e. the Citadel. However I didn't mind the walk and there are PLENTY of Xe Oms or Cyclos hanging around if you'd rather take a ride.
Will definitely stay again if I return to Hue!

Lovely bedroom set up. Free internet access with supplied PC in the room. Reasonable price. Good location.
The furnishings and cleanliness of the bedroom is great. The bathroom is clean, but more attention needs to be paid here, especially regarding the shower curtain - never a good idea in hotel rooms. The internet access in the room is brilliant, but the hotel should consider setting up Skype and supplying a microphone for internet phone calls. The staff are helpful and friendly. The only real negative is the breakfast which is very ordinary - minuscule portion of egg omellet and fruit that never appears to be really fresh.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The pedal cyclo drivers near the hotel are very annoying. They never take 'no' for an answer and keep following you down the road for ages, calling out and trying to 'sell' you a cyclo tour.

1) Great Service!!!
2) Clean/private rooms
3) Great breakfast esp if you like fresh exotic tropical fruit.
1) Only one is the layout of the bathroom was slightly awkward to work with. The door opened over 1/2 the bathtub and it was hard to climb in even though I am a limber fit person.
I stayed here for one whole week and it was wonderful. Great value - it was clean, safe, wonderful service- computer IN room for you and a safe. Complimentary 2 bottles of water everyday, inexpensive laundry service - great fresh fruit for breakfast and wonderful, helpful staff!! 5/5 for me - STAY HERE!
Restaurant Tip : The Tropicana across the street has a reputation for "great food" - I found it okay and they charge "tax" on their food - Don't go there. Also - massage place next door is for "men" but if you want a nice massage - I paid $9 for one at Camellia Hotel.

The Orchid retains a top online reputation which it deserves completely. Not only is the service perfect and non intrusive but it is also sincere. The staff simply cannot do enough to help you. The hotel is clean and the rooms are an adequate size. The breakfast is the best I've had in Vietnam (rivaling 2 five star hotels). Use the computer in the lobby, a free drink appears, need asim card for your phone, its delivered within minutes, need to moan about cyclos and the staff laugh... Make sure you book this hotel as (for the money) you won't be dissapointed.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The massage available next to the hotel is not of a good standard and the staff expect a massive tip. Travel services (car to Hoi An) arranged by travel agent across the road from hotel did not deliver what we paid for.

Hotel was very pleasant place to stay, but not outstanding. We had problems with our hot water in the first room, so they moved us on the second day and upgraded to a family room with balcony. I would certainly recommend spending extra money on family room as we very much enjoyed sitting on the balcony and enjoying some wine!

Very clean and well presented, friendly and very helpful staff. Breakfast good.
Booked a Delux room but we were upgraded to a family room. All of the staff were very polite and most helpful. The hotel is very clean and the location is great. Plenty of restaurants near by. Fruit or cakes were put in our room each night. I would recommend this place to anyone. The breakfast selection was good and they had a variety of things to choose from. I would stay here again.

Lovely room. Spacious. Clean. Very helpful and friendly staff. Computer supplied in room. Good location.
Chose this Hotel from all the reviews I had read and we were very happy we did. Would not bother waisting my time looking for anything else in Hue.
Will just book in here again. The King size bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows. Also shower pressure was good.
Restaurant Tip : Cathi Bar & Cafe just around the corner.Excellent value and friendly staff of Giang, Tu and Mo. Also Bloom Restaurant.Great food.

Really friendly staff, good breakfast, free wifi and internet connection (including a computer in your room), room nice and quiet.
Had a very enjoyable stay here, aside from the hotel being excellent, we also really liked Hue, wished we had planned for more than two nights. The staff were the friendliest we encountered on our 3 week trip and the room was very clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed the breakfast, so many different fruits to choose from, eggs which ever way you want plus lots of little Hue style delicacies and cakes. The afternoon complimentary cake or fruit was also a nice touch. Good location, plenty of restaurants in the area, plus you can walk to the Citadel – mind you at the end of a long day of sightseeing the services of a friendly cyclo driver is a welcome break!
Restaurant Tip : We loved the vegetarian food in Hue, look out for Bo De at 11 Le Loi (about 15 mins walk from hotel) and Tinh Tam right next door to the hotel. Try the Fig!

Great Location, friendly Staff, great rooms.
The hotel is located around the corner from lots of restaurants are bars. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to the honeymoon suite witch was fantastic. Having your own computer and internet access in the room was also great. The breakfast room is small but selection is ok. Highly recommend staying here when you visit wonderful Hue .
Nightlife Tip : Check Out the DMZ bar around the corner. Best Bar in Hue.

Good location.
Excellent and very friendly staff.
Great breakfast!
Good rooms.
None that I can think of...
The Orchid hotel is quite new and is a very good quality medium priced hotel well located in Hue. We enjoyed our stay there and found the staff to be very helpful (it was raining a lot while we were there and they provided us with umbrellas and covered us to the taxi etc. The breakfast buffet is excellent and in a very pleasant small dining room. The wifi service is good and the room was very comfortable. A great value for money pick combining Lonely Planet picks with Agoda price consciousness!
Hotel Feature Tip : We used Lonely Planet to identify likely hotels and then Agoda to give us good prices and that combination has worked marvellously throughout the region.

Clean, ornate rooms. Exceedingly helpful staff. Centrally located.
Small breakfast selection.
If you are looking for a great hotel room to sleep after a long day of travel, book this hotel. Don't waste money on a 4 or 5 star unless you are into the extras like fitness rooms and pools. In my experience, you don't come to Hue to stay in a bloody hotel all day; don't waste your money. This hotel's amenities are definitely 4 star quality at a 2 star price, book it.
Travel tip : Ask for the beef noodles during breakfast. They will serve you a great bowl of rich, hot soup. It's really the best thing for breakfast.

- Central location
- Friendly staffs
- Nice daily gifts (cakes, fruits ...)
- Smell in the bathroom
- Be cautious with the tour
Cozy atmosphere. The staffs always greet us with a smile. They do care and try to satisfy our needs.
The hotel is close to restaurants, bars and the wharf(in case you want to travel by boat).
Our room is in the middle so there is literally no windows. However, the decoration is nice and internet ready.
Breakfast is fine but a little bit below standard.
Travel tip : - Better to rent a bike to go around the city and save the tombs for cars.
- Bring a LAN cable to use internet from the wall socket if you use laptop and stay in room without a PC.
- Avoid the boat trip if you don't want madly hot journey (traveling in mid-August) and foul ads.
