we have much enjoyed our stay in the orchid hotel in hue. service was very good and checkin was a very easy. the transfer from the airport to the hotel was pre arranged and is very recommendable.
the room was very nice and tidy, as was the bathroom. and clean as well!
the hotel is located near the centre, so no problems using it as a home base to go sightseeing the town.
by the way did i already mention the personnel? they did a stunning job. upon departure we made a trip and needed to shower. since our room was already cleaned, we could shower in a seperate room. that is what i call service!

A transfer from airport to hotel was offered, the private transportation was excellent.

Good accomodaton,making in Hue more enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and always tried to assist whereever possible.We were upgraded to a family room which was very comfortable. The also organised a car to take us to An Hoi. Would stay here again if we travelled to Hue at another time.

Get a cyclo to shown you around the Citedel, too far towalk.

Deserves the #1 TripAdvisor rating. Large clean room, good bathroom, helpful staff. The hotel provided a good map of Hue and information about tours. [The Mandarin Cafe seems to have the greatest flexibility - we wanted a half day tour up the river to see one tomb and pagoda and they were able to arrange that when others could only offer a full day]. Overall, the nicest hotel we stayed in in Vietnam.

This is a small hotel in the tourist area of Hue with the best service I had in Vietnam. Guests are greeted in the most welcoming manner; breakfast is excellent, the main sights of Hue are in walking distance. I would come here again.

We stayed in Orchid Hotel for 2 nights. We were lucky that we were upgraded to a very nic room at the top of the hotel. The bathroom was great! It even had and aquarium in the wall between the bathroom and the sleeping room. We really liked the breakfast and the staff of the hotel. We got the feeling that all the other rooms are also a good deal.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We went by motorbike to the tomb of Tu Duc and 2 pagodes. This was really nice!

Hotel is in excellent location for sightseeing. They also offer a free pick up service from the train station (which we found out after walking to the hotel unfortunately). Staff are extremely friendly. Added benefit of having a computer in the room so you can use internet at your leisure. Excellent value for money an perfect for a short stay in Hue.

This hotel would have been the best we stayed in in Vietnam. For only a 3 star hotel it could easily be a 4 star. The staff were truly amazing they couldn't have done anymore for us from arranging our tours and transportation (always sending us off with bottles of cold water and moist towels) to making sure we had clean towels (twice a day) beds turned down everynight and a chocolate left on your pillow, fresh fruit delivered everyday as well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.

We arrived late and because we only had a half day tolook around and the lady in charge organised a tour for us which was greatly appreciated. She made us feel so welcome we would highly recommend this hotel to anybody.

Great little hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed three nights and were picked up from the train station free of charge. Room was spacious- excellent comfy bed- bath to relax in after a busy day sightseeing- fresh fruit delivered to the room everyday. The only downside was there was no view from the window of our particular room (but not a problem for a shorter stay). The breakfasts were excellent- so much choice- freshly baked French bread- caked- spring rolls- eggs- fresh fruit- lovely toasted sandwiches- banana fritters etc... Easy location for restuarants (good restuarant opposite) and a short walk to the river.

Great Hotel that took me by surprise

I first booked this hotel as it has one of the more affordable family rooms among the hotels in Hue. When i first enter the hotel, it looks a little small, especially its lobby. However, I was immediately impressed by the staff there as they offer us a welcome drink and snacks at the dining hall while we wait for the checking in. They are also very attentive to our needs and request.
The room itself is very impressive as well. Everything looks clean and well-maintained. The decor and lighting is awesome, and there are fresh flowers around, adding an additional touch of elegance.
My room is on the 5th level, and there is a balcony outside my room. The view from the balcony is unblocked and fantastic. I totally enjoyed the time when i just sit at the balcony, have a drink and relax.
When we left the hotel to continue our journey to another city, the hotel staff even gave us a few bottles of mineral water. While it seems like nothing much, this small gesture really touched me as it shows how attentive they are(we are going on a long bus ride that might not have any water available.
Thank you Orchid Hotel. If i'm back in Hue, I'll definitely be back in Orchid.
