the romance hotel is a gem of a hotel in hue. i've been to hue twice, and it rained the entire time on both occasions, so my view of the city is a little skewed. however, staying at the romance hotel more than made up for the rain-soaked attempts to enjoy the city. my entire family and i took full advantage of the spa with wonderful massages that were very reasonably priced. the rooms were also some of the nicest rooms i've rooms i've stayed in in vietnam. if i ever decide to give hue a third shot, i'll definitely be staying at the romance again.

The hotel is quite central and you can walk to the Royal Citadela.
The room are ample and clean.
the breakfast is quite good with also a big selection of very good croissants.
Free and fats Wifi available in your room.
The only bad point is maybe the staff who do not look that nice and when I forgot my small bag downstairs during check-in, they did not either bring me the bag in the room, nor call me, but simply take the bag (for themselves?). I went downstairs and asked for my little bag and they looked annoyed... a bit suspicious.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Rent a scooter to see the emperors' tombs south of the city for just 120k dong, in one of the many travel agencies (1 minute walking from the hotel). It's quick and you are flexible.

Comfortable hotel with nice rooms

i regretted booking at this hotel mainly because it is a bit of an institution. full of tour groups being crammed into buses everyday, staff were friendly enough but blatantly expected tips for everything. my room was big and comfortable with all the amenities of a 4 star hotel.

The Romance was a great hotel for theprice that we paid ( a special deal). The hotel was new and clean and spacious. The Spa was not quitopenwhich was e disappointing: the Spa Facilities look excellent and brand new, however the staff were a little unsure and we were double booked by accident. Gym was not yet open unfortunately, but overall a highly recommended hotel.
Nightlife Tip:
hue city closes early, so aim to eat out early. nina's restauarant on trip advisor is highly recommended!! look for hue adventures motorcycle tours (we went 2 day from hue to hoi an) fantastic!!

everything was very nice, including a nice selection of foods at breakfast. the only downside of the hotel was the wi-fi. we struggled to get any reception in our room. even when we could get reception, most of the time it didn't work.

good sized rooms, nice bathrooms, we requested a double bed instead we got two single beds pushed together. we decided to hire bikes to go and see the royal tombs and it ended up costing 9 dollars each to hire them from the hotel. very expensive. breakfast was excellent we a huge variety if food options available. we booked thus hotel partly because we wanted to use urs fitness centre but when we got there they said that had not been constructed yet even though they themselves advertise that they have one in the actual hotel and online. quite disappointed about that.

my wife and i stayed at the romance for 2 nights in january 2012. it is a modern hotel that caters to a fair amount of tour groups but they handle it well. our room was large, clean and comfortable with a good bathroom and tub. the staff was friendly, spoke decent english and were helpful arranging our bus ticket to hoi an with a hotel pick up. we were on the 8th floor so we had a view although the city view is not so inspiring if you are not right next to the imperial city. the location was good, 2 blocks from the river, a twenty minute walk to the imperial city and 2 blocks to a small street that had several good restaurants and 2 lively bars. the street the romance is on isn't too busy so there isn't a lot of street noise. there is a wide selection at breakfast of vietnamese and western food. we had one other meal at the restaurant that was good and reasonably priced for the value. there is a pleasant smallish pool on top of the hotel although we didn't use it due to cool weather. overall this hotel is a good value. the only negative is housekeeping seems to come to the room a bit often to restock the mini bar or change towels instead of doing it all at once.

This was the best hotel on our vacation. The room was light and clean with a huge comfortable bed. The breakfast buffe was huge and very good. The hotel had a rooftop pool, too bad it was too cold to try it. Great location, close to shopping and reastaurants. Can highly recomend Romance hotel.
