Great place to relax for a weekend!
Pool, beach, free breakfast and airport pickup

We spent a great weekend at Kim Hoa. It was clean, located on the beach, had a nice pool, free airport pickup, free Wifi (even accessible at the beach), free breakfast (including a chef preparing fresh omelettes and banana pancakes), and only a $1 cab ride away from the night market.

This is one of those hotels that could be so much better but it seems like there are plenty of staff and no one is doing any work. The buffet breakfast was amazing and if you really need a pool the hotel location a 15 minute walk to night market is very good

Expensive, poor service and run down facilities

Kim Hoa resort had a promising premise, alone standing bungalow for two with swimming pool and close to the beach, not far from Duong dong city. We stayed for three nights which was pleasant but our departure gave a bitter aftertaste.
At our arrival hoards of employees were just standing around and not really helping with our luggage. Check in was fast and painless. When we got to our bungalow the first thing we noticed was that the bed sheets were stained, they had been washed but they had stains all over.
There is no complimentary water, practically all hotels we have done in our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia offered free water bottles.
Our stay was pleasant until checkout, a person responsible for checking the rooms before paying had brought back a chipped porcelaine saucer and reported that a small drinking water bottle was missing. We told them that none of the items were used by us. After a few minutes waiting and being a bit frustrated they returned our passports and apologized.
Facilities are a bit run down and unfinished/halted expansion construction at the pool were unsightly.
But nice beach facilities, very close to the beach and a 15 min walk to the center.
Restaurant Tip:
Check out the night market at Duong Duong city that is very clean with excellent seafood choice.

There is a lot of positive things to mention. On the 'room for improvement' list the breakfast is to be listed. The selection and quality of the breakfast does not appeal to European style at all, and the breakfast area was dirty.
Despite the poor breakfast the general experience meets the expectation relative to the price level, and it is clearly recommendable..

the hotel was adequate for a short stay .The English used is limited but sufficient to meet the need of your request.The main part of the hotel area is always fill with drit and noise from the on going construction.Request to stay in the far right side of the hotel if noise is the issues for you.The breakfast was good but not great.
Travel tip:
The pick up from the airport and ride to the airport was a nice touch,of the hotel.

Stay further down the beach away from town. Many nice beach bungalows down there. Hotel was dusty and bungelows were old and dirty. Rent a motorbike and ride to remote beachs.

Way overpriced hotel, but I had heard all places were a bit more expensive on Phu Quoc. We got a pool view bungalow at first - the renovations were completed just next to us and stuff repeatedly fell on our room waking us up (they start early) moved to a standard room, and while I know it was drop in a price, it was an absolute drop in quality. Both rooms the air con was just an expensive fan, and the fans sounded like sleeping in a jet engines. The hot water didn't work at all, and in the standard the wifi didn't work, the bedding was terrible. Would not reccomend to anyone, even te expensive room was terrible!
Travel tip:
Go to the night market for a feed - best food ever!!
