Excellent staff, be aware of mosquitos
Excellent staff, perfect breakfast and really relaxed beach
5.7
The stay was good but not recommended for families with small kids. Staff is number one friendly and also very generous (i.e. during breakfast we asked for something more which was given and not charged). The first day we arrived early and we got a free breakfast.
The rooms have a very nice balcony and a nice open air bathroom. Unfortunately there is no air-conditioning, TV or fridge. The rooms are open so in the evening we had one night a huge amount of flies and other insects which forced us to use the mosquito net. Using the net made the room too hot.
If the room would have an air-con and closed rooms, the overall rating for this resort would be a lot higher. The beach is really good but the resort itself is very far away from any other place. It is also difficult to find.
if you just want to relax, enjoy the beach, don’t mind sleeping under a mosquito net and don’t want to be bothered by vendors, this resort is an excellent choice.

We enjoyed every minute
The quiet location, the beach and the bungalow attracted us
10
We enjoyed every minute of our stay with the beautiful beach and the quietness and the nature around. The bungalow was basic and no TV and no Fridge and NO gym at the hotel, but if yu like a Robinson Crusoe feeling you can find it here! The staff can arrange everything and is very helpful and speaks excellent English. We loved the new build beach bar and the food was also very good.

Absolutely amazing stay at Mango Bay
Location, staff and accommodation were the best three!
9.7
This place is like heaven. We stayed in a deluxe beach bungalow which overlooked the water and was set in the middle of almost jungle like trees. Was a perfect slice of paradise and ended our trip to Vietnam on a high. We definitely want to come back! The staff were so helpful and were good at English. Happy hour at the beach bar was also a must, watching the most breathtaking sunset i've ever seen. One tip: If you go, make sure you have bug spray :)

A challenging environment at 38C and storms
6
We stayed here the first week of May. We knew there was no airconditioning. However we overestimated our ability to cope with the environment.. At this time of year the temperatures were in excess of 35C every day , we had heavy rain every day, which brought out swarms of every kind of insect, mossies, flies everywhere. Our stay was a challenge.

Excellent!
Secluded, nature and beach.

It was great, but my only complaint was the wifi in my room was down and was not rectified for my entire stay. Other than that it was all good. Good breakfast, western food prices. Eat off resort if you're looking to save a few dollars! Also , if you're planning tours of the island local tours are way cheaper than the hotel ones. I would say half the price.

Beautiful and Simple
Beautiful rooms, respect for the environment, friendly staff
10
The Mango Bay Resort is possibly the most perfect hotel I have ever stayed in. The location is beautiful and takes up a considerable stretch of coastline including three sandy bays dotted with rocks (full of rockpools to keep the children interested for hours). The rooms are set in beautiful gardens with grass and trees, spread out from each other so they never feel crowded. There are two restaurants and although the menu is largely the same in each of them it is big and varied enough to eat there every night if you want to without getting bored. The hotel is located on the West side of the island so you are treated to some really spectacular sunsets. The rooms are so comfortable, cool and breezy, a good size even for a family of 4 in a double room. The bathrooms are outside which is really special if you’re coming from a cold European country.
But the thing I like the best was that Mango Bay makes real efforts to be as ecologically friendly as possible and it does this without compromising the feeling of luxury that you get from staying there. There is no TV in the room but if you are like us and travel with a computer and DVDs for the children this was not something we missed. There is wifi in all the rooms. There is no mini bar full of expensive things you don’t really want but might just eat or drink anyway. You can order drinks to your room and ice and keep them in your cool box. There is no buffet breakfast where you eat 3 times as much as you really want, instead there is a wide choice of breakfasts and they prepare it for you. There is no kettle – a flask of hot water is provided to your room every day. They also bring you cold drinking water, as much as you like, in glass jugs. I didn’t see a plastic bottle the whole time I was there. There are so many more things I would like to say but I have run out of space. You should go there, it's amazing.
