Plei Ku is a city with NO tourist. NO ONE speaks english (even in the hotel), EVERYONE is starring you. There are no restaurants for European people, nothing to see, the city is ugly. We went there to see the lake: it was ok but nothing exceptionnal.
The hotel is direct in a street with a lot of noises and you can't close the windows. The cleaning lady come at 7:30 AM!! The breakfast is 2 eggs with bread (very poor). And you can't rent motorbikes in this city, they don't know the tourism.

Older hotel in city center, needs a major facelift

The woman who checked us in at this hotel was unfriendly to say the least. She didn't speak a word of English, and looked at our Agoda reservation very suspiciously for a long time before grudgingly giving us a key to our room. The Guestroom Double was awful. The whole hotel feels run down and our room was filthy. Dirty floors, dirty towel at the bathroom door to wipe your feet on, none of the lights worked in the room except for one horrible flourescent bar above the bed, no proper shower, just a shower head next to the toilet. We decided not to stay, and when we went to the lobby to pick up our passports, a different woman who spoke English insisted we look at a couple of different (better) options the hotel had to offer. The suites were dramatically better, and after seeing them we decided to stay, as they felt cleaner, the lights worked, and they had a tub (without a shower curtain). The breakfast was very sparse and no one speaks English, so make sure you know how to order eggs in Vietnamese! Pleiku doesn't have a lot of sleeping options, as it is not heavily touristed. We did like the fact that we could walk out of this hotel and be right in the downtown district. It also felt very safe to walk around at night.
Travel tip:
Ask for a suite- it makes a huge difference!
