Mixed feelings, we had an attempted break-in
Upon arrival, we were met by a very friendly staff. The location was beautiful, right on the beach. At 5 am on the first night, we had what seemed to be someone trying to break into the room. We could not reach any staff until 7:30 am. They did not react with any concern or surprise when we told them what happened. I can't confirm that the person on the other side of the entrance door had malicious intent, but since we were in a secluded area and our bungalow was on the edge of this resort, it was pretty scary to be in such a vulnerable situation without easy access to any help. Even more disappointing was the lack of concern from the staff. We left for another resort shortly after that same morning.

Quiet and lovely spot
We loved Baan Phu Lae! The bungalows are breezy and comfortable and about 20 steps from the water. The restaurant is crazy good; we happily ate all of our meals there. They have snorkles and floats you can borrow

Great staff, lovely beach, gorgeous sunset
Decent value for money. Very helpful and accommodating staff. Fabulous location on the beach with a lovely view of the sunset from the restaurant. Rosie is one staff member who went above and beyond for us, as did the owner when he dropped us to our ferry. Overall a fabulous night spent here, highly recommend.

Accommodation, staff, food
10/10...I have spent 7 months around SE Asia and can honestly say Baan Phu Lae easily surpasses any other resort. The accommodation is clean, with beautiful balconies over looking a really nice beach. The staff work tirelessly to keep the grounds in near perfect condition. The food is exceptional, which is a relief to those concerned with travellers stomach. Plenty of local dishes to pick from as well as cooking a great pizza! Orn was our first point of contact for anything we needed and her knowledge really helped us a lot. A big thank you to Rosie the barman for creating a fun atmosphere and Nick/Wat for all their work. The restaurant opens out over the beach providing the perfect setting for a relaxing break. The beach itself is also the best on the island, with good snorkelling and calm waters for a swim. Genuinely would recommend Bann Phu Lae to anyone looking for paradise.

The best place to stay in Ko Lanta
Food, Friendliness of the stuff was outstanding, great food and dining place next to the beach
Baan Phu Lae was the best resort we stayed during our Thailand trip so far. We are overhelmed by the nice and calm location next to the beach where we dined almost every day. Everything is tasty, but my girlfriend points out that the Mango with sticky rice is the best you may find during your vacation. Baan Phu Lae met our imagination of the perfect place to stay. Ko Lanta also offers enough things to do for a whole week. The stuff helps you to arrange everything.

Sad to say goodbye to this paradise!
Baan Phu Lee is unlike another accommodations on Koh Lanta. It is in the very Southern tip of the island, where you can enjoy the truly tranquil facing Bamboo Bay! The food is great and the lady at the reception is very friendly, helpful and honest. We really enjoyed our stay here though it was too short! If you're looking for a peace of mind, this is Baan Phu Lae is the place to be!

Excellent place to stay in a quite location
The food is excellent, even if you don't stay you should come for dinner
I have no need to look anywhere else to stay on lanta. Baan Phu Lae has wonderful beachfront bungalows that strike a perfect balance between simplicity and luxury. The restaurant has fantastic food and is worth visiting for dinner and the view if you happen to be staying somewhere else. Bann Phu Lae sites on a small but georgeous stretch of sandy beach with fantastic sunset views. The location is in a quite, less visited part of the island so you'll want to rent a motorbike which is easily arranged. The staff work very hard, 7 days a week for the entire season. They are very kind and authentic but some might have limited English skills. Be kind, a little Thai shows some respect and goes a long way towards breaking the ice and revealing a beautifull person who is eager to please.
