persistent staff

The beds were too hard. Bervages not inclusive, and the staff consistently asked if we want more drinks. They even charged us for warm water, for a guest feeling unwell.

Excellent experience

The guide Too is very attentive. Crews are very helpful as well.
Good stay however the pick up can be improved. We waited about 45 mins at the harbor for the small boat to pick us up to send us to our junk. Same as when we go back to our minibus the next day back from halongbay. The size of minibus could be better also, very small and uncomfortable. A bit boring at night in the junk, nothing much to do but to relax only. Good experience to the cave and kayaking. Amazing view of halong, worth the long hour journey !

Memorable stay

Good service, Value for money
Although not the most luxurious cruise available, Bai Tu Long provides a cosy and comfortable room and surrounding for a relaxing time on Halong Bay. Would have preferred if there is any night activity arranged for the group, as we ended up going back to our cabins and slept very early since there was nothing much to do on the deck.

Amazing staff, acceptable room

View, staff, food
The staffs on the cruise was amazing, would not have enjoyed myself if not for the staffs. For the price, the room is acceptable, though one prick is that the airconditioner can't be turned on whenever the ship is moving due to the need for channeling of power to the ship engine. Nonetheless, it value for money!

not as advertised

Great tour guide, good crew, great food
I know it is law that all these junks had to be painted white on the outside. But did they really need to paint the insides of the rooms too? It looks like it was done by a couple teenagers with spray paint cans. None of the rooms looked as advertised, rooms were quite musty and none of the room locks worked properly. Boat was quite small. That's my only complaints. Great tour guide and the staff could not be nicer and more helpful. The seafood was excellent. Typical tourist cattle drive through the kayaking to the floating village and caves with 200 others but that's not their fault. We went night fishing for squid, that was fun. Good value for the money.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: There are typically one or two ladies on a boat selling fresh caught seafood or what have you, pretty disgusted at the other tourists simply gawking, pointing and snapping pics (without buying). These folks are trying to make a living not be looked at as some sideshow. Buy something or move on.

nice food and freindly crews

well programed for whole trip with english speaking guide and service is good
Boat is not too big and got only two rooms. Room is bathroom attached, quite spacious and furnitures are made of woods and canes. Big windows around the cabin are so enjoyable to view the calm sea and lime stone pliiars. Purchase including four meals on boat, two ways transfer from hotle to boat plus all fees for program. It's really worth to go there and got relaxe. Good for so drama people and honeymoon couple.

Great journey onto halong bay

Crew were absolutely amenable and changed the program to suit passengers and the change in weather
Back for second time and would thoroughly recommend this company to anyone. the food is first-class; the staff are friendly and welcoming and the stops are interesting.

Great disappointment

Spectacular scenery, mostly lovely staff
this could have been a wonderful two days with my family but was the low point in our two week trip to vietnam. the company picked us up from our hotel in a run-down van that bumped and clattered for four hours on our way to the port. the back of the seat in front of my daughters had no springing and flopped back towards them, collapsing under the weight of its three passengers. halfway to the port we were taken to a trashy 'supermarket' of vietnamese tourist produce with three hundred other tourists. we'd had an independent trip until that point and were disappointed to be treated like cattle. on arrival at the port the tour guide informed us we may not be sailing out because of high winds coming in from china, a fact the company would have been aware of in the morning. we went out, in the end, and the junk and rooms were perfect - very lovely. the staff were absolutely lovely and the food was delicious. the itinerary, though, was regimented. you're given lunch very quickly after you get on the boat, you go to a beach, paddle around one kaste in a kayak and then back to the junk where you have dinner. we stayed fairly close to port and missed on on visiting a floating village. the next morning we were told to get out of our rooms by 8am (even though the deal is that you're on the junk until 12), we were fed breakfast, there was a quick trip to a cave (with hundreds of other tourists) and we sat on the junk being pretty much ignored by the staff while they played checkers, until we went back to port. the guide who took us all back to hanoi in the same terrible van, ignored us completely for four hours and - even though my daughter had been vomiting all night and i'd been up with her and she was clearly still very ill - they dumped us at another tourist supermarket for an hour and we had to get off the van. the guide was extremely rude and disappointing. our guide on the way to the junks had been very pleasant and polite and informative.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Find your own way to the port, hire a junk by yourself if you can, a smaller one owned by a family, and negotiate your own trip. I would never do this trip again unless I organised it myself.
