Awful reception staff
The reception staff need to be replaced with friendly staff who welcome guests with smiles and go out of their way too help make guests stay memorable.

Always Good
Been here four or five times now and it's always been good for the price you pay. This time, 14th to 18th July 2016, our room was not quite as good because of it's location. We would have preferred a bottom level floor nearer the pool. But the facilities were just a good, the room just as big and just as clean. The pool is still decent. The place is only a few minutes from the beach, bars, restaurants and two decent size malls. It's also close to the airport and far enough away from the major traffic jam areas. You don't hear any airport noise. The staff are friendly enough. If something is not right you just tell them and they generally sort it out very quickly. It's not 5 star. You get what you pay for. But it's good enough. Myself, my wife and our 3 year old boy will be going back here again next visit for sure :)

Depends on what level of comfort and how much money you want to spend. I've compared this hotel to many others and keep coming back. Close to beach shops surf airport. Nice pool air con comfy beds large rooms. Don't come here if you want a high level of luxury. I think $25-$30 per night Is excellent value for what you get.

My 3rd and last visit to Bakung. I know the cost is low and you should not expect luxury. However, my latest and last visit was disappointing. The hotel needs to lift its game only a little to make the place a better place. A few things I would suggest are: Pool needs greater attention. All they do is throw buckets full of powder chlorine, no testing. Algae is very evident on walls and floor, which would indicate the ph is out of balance, it needs plenty of acid to correct ph and daily brushing of walls. The pool looks green and no doubt someone is going to suffer the consequences such as ear or skin infection. It's a health issue. I don't expect a big buffet breakfast, however, to ration people to one egg only is pushing the point to far. No towels for pool area, a cost saving which is marginal and again only angers visitors. Whilst my room was cleaned each day, like other Bali hotels a quick disinfection of the toilet bowl would help to bed rid of the disgusting smell. Staff seem to have a cavalier attitude to complaints or suggestions, where as they should be more helpful, not laugh off the issue. No I will go to another hotel and pay the extra $20 per night for better facilities.
