It is set close to the train station and is within walking distance of the old city. There are plenty of restaurants and shops in the area, and it is highly recommended that the city be explored on foot for there is always something interesting and exotic waiting to be discovered. Guests who prefer to stay in can enjoy traditional and international dishes at the on-site restaurant. The Balima Hotel provides a comfortable base for budget travelers to Rabat.

Looking a tad old...

Proximity to train station and medina
Room was tired looking with paint peeling off the wall.

Lovely Hotel, Excellent Location, and Best value!

Walking distance from Rabatville Train Station, Opposite the Parliament Building, & Post Office. Big and lovely rooms,
This is a very decent hotel in Rabat which is very easy to locate. We booked a triple room and got a family room with 2 beds in each room - what a treat! The rooms were well decorated; the beds were soft and linens immaculately clean. Even though the hotel is already old, it is well maintained. The receptionists were all warm and friendly; always ready to assist and able to give an intelligent answer to customer inquiries. Will definitely stay again in this hotel when I return to Rabat.

My experience at Balima hotel

Its location is great!
We stay here two days. Its location is great because it is close to the central train station, about 200 meters or 3 minutes walking. The reception was friendly and helpful. The room's condition was old and poor, comparing with others 3-star hotels. There is no air-condition so it is not recommend to stay at the summer. The breakfast is below the standard. There was only three breads with fruit jam, one boiled egg and a cup of tea or coffee. In conclusion, we think this hotel should be renewed, particularly the guest room so that it can compete with the others 3-star hotels.

Reasonable hotel in centre of town

Clean, very close to train station
Hotel Balima is cheap and very accessible, in the centre of town. The room and bathroom were clean if getting a little old. Unfortunately there are not great deals to be had on hotels in Rabat, this one was the best option for when we needed one night transiting between Fes and a homestay we had booked. Would have preferred the Ibis but was fully booked.

Balima Hotel in Rabat

The Blaima Hotel is very close to the Railway Station
We used the Balima Hotel as a one night stop prior to catching the 7 am flight the next morning to Paris. It is not posh but it is what one would expect from a two star hotel. There was wireless service in the first floor, and, though the hallwats and rooms are smoky, it was adequate for our purposed.

Budget hodel in centre of Rabat

Location Helpfull staff with sense of humor Price Nice view over Rabat
Balima hotel is really easy to find in the centre of Rabat. It has really good location and price is reasonable. Do not expect high standard. Disadvantage connected eith location is noise comming from one of the busiest streets of Rabat. Unexpectedly I experienced vibration caused by moving elevator which is pretty noisy too. And on saturday evening top floor room 556 - I could feel absolutely clearly shaking of the floor under my feets. I didnt manage to found the source of this shaking but it might be caused by loud music in the basement of the hotel or maybe by busy traffic on the streets. When I mention it at the hotel reception, the guy with sense of humor asked me if I had too much of berber whiskey (mint tea). If you choose this hotel be ready for a bit of noise and shaking.

Good location, unsatisfactory service

It is very central. It is very easy get out and about. The staff is friendly and helpful.
The hotel needs serious refurbishmnent. The decoration and furniture have to be renewed. It is below the standards of a *** hotel. It was relatively clean though. They do not have range of drinks at the bar. For example, they do not serve wine at the bar. Furthermore, the drinks are ridiculously expensive at the hotel's bar. I have not dined in the hotel but considering the quality of the breakfast it would not be a pleasant experience. Staff try to make your stay enjoyable but there is always a language barrier. They recommended me a good restaurant at the end of the day. I stayed in better hotels in Morocco. So, I think Rabat is not that touristic. They are getting used to the needs and expectations of Western travellers excluding French.

Excellent Location

The location, the room.
Very calm hotel, with bar and restaurant. The rooms are big and have comfort and the bigest con is the shower (to small and old). The receptionist were very friendly and helpful. No parking and you have to pay twice to park at the street - pay the guardian and pay the meter. Weel located, you can walk to the museum, to the medina or to the beach.
