Ants everywhere

Good location near the beach and not far from the centre, rooms decent size, staff always around.
Bedrooms aren't too bad for the cheap price that we paid it was nothing more than we expected, except the stained bedsheets. The toilets on the other hand are disgusting, there were 2 toilets in our section and they were swarming with ants. Neither toilet flushes properly and there's barely ever toilet roll. We found a dead spider in our bed and got bitten at least 20 times in the night, possibly by the ants! Overall, it wasn't a great stay, but we were only paying about £3.50 per night! Although the location is near the beach, it's a tricycle ride to the centre on a night because the streets are too dark to know where to walk to and to feel safe in doing so. On a night time unless you get transport somewhere there is nowhere to eat other than the local bakery. The cottages have cooking facilities but we saw nowhere to buy food to cook. We originally presumed we had booked a cottage with a fan but when we arrived it was a room and the cottages were unavailable.

Worst Experience Ever

Friendly Staff, Close to the port, Walking distance to the beach
I read all the reviews on Agoda and thought I was prepared but did not expect this. The pictures on the website looks really nice but once you get inside it is awful. I had booked the Standard Family Cottage for 6 people and the Delux Family Cottage. The rooms are very old, mouldy and dark. The tap in the bathroom was dripping all the time. The carpets, furniture and bedding are very old. The worst thing was the mosquitos. Hundreds and hundreds of them. We were all bitten. We got the mosquito "bat" from the workers the last night and even though we killed more than 50 they kept on coming. My children were bitten so badly they had an allergic reaction. The kitchen was filthy and I was shocked that they had no refrigerator. I have no idea why this place got such a high rating. The only thing I liked was that the staff were friendly and tried to help as much as possible. Oh, there is a TV but no cable. I will not recommend this place to anyone and won't even stay here for free. Very disappointed. This place has alot of potential if only the owner invests some money and upgrades it.

Highly Disappointed

Pretty Garden, Helpful Staff, Close to the beach
Don't go during the monsoon time - the mosquitoes will have a feast on you. We were attacked by mosquitos. Still don't know how they came in the bungalow. Everything is old. You will itch from the time you get there until you leave. My kids had an allergic reaction from all the mosquito bites. We were bitten all over our bodies and even though we used mosquito repellent it didn't help. Dark, smelly, stinking rooms. Old furniture, bedding. I want to take a shower just thinking about it. This is suppose to be self catering but there is no refrigerator and even though there are TV's in the rooms they have no cable. This was very disappointing. The staff were sweet and tried to be helpful whenever they could. You pay for what you get. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Budget lodging

The staff are friendly and accomodating. Pretty cheap but still perfect for a place to sleep in. Near the port and beach is about 5mins walk.
It was a good stay. Stayed June 2015.

Very basic accommodation

Near establishments, very affordable rate
The place is about 700-800m away from the port and 600-700m away from Batobalonos Street where bars and restaurants are located. Rate is affordable: Originally, I booked the fan room. When I learned that they still have a vacant aircon room, I just paid the remaining balance. The room is quite big. Good for 2 persons. What I didn't like was the toilet. The toilet bowl, though flush-type, has rust stains and was too noisy. It kept on filling itself with water. The water from the faucet was dirty! Rusty water was coming out though it became clear after a few minutes.

Great place for a budget stay.

Location, Value for money and value for money.
Great location, only a couple of minutes walk to the white beach and a few minutes tricicad ride to the beach between Kota and Budyong which for me has the best beach front. Room is decent. AC was a bit weak and couldn't withstand the heat. But nevertheless it does the job. Stayed there for three nights, requested to change sheets after the first as it wasn't cotton and was really hot to sleep on. I think it was the owner or the manager who insisted they don't change sheets till after the third day. That was a bit annoying. After a couple of minutes of arguing she let us move to another room. Other than that, I would still go back.
